Rue scrambled up the tree and sat high up in the tree. A Grizzly grunted and pawed at the base of the tree. "Sorry fellow I need to eat too!" Rue smiled holding pieces of honey comb in her hand. She broke off a piece and dropped it and the bear leaped on it and crunched on it greedily. Rue dipped her finger into the honey comb scooping out honey and placing it on her tongue. Using the base of the slingshot she hacked off some bark. She smeared honey and ate some of the soft bark. The abrk wasn't as bad as the bark int eh arena so she was happy and the honey... it was so good. She smiled as the bear pawed for more. She dropped the honey comb she had gotten the honey out of and he licked up the last few bits of honey before munching on it. The bear grunted and hobbled off. Rue's feet dangled from the tree she was intent. Frell landed down. "Sorry boy you missed the food." Frell chirped rapidly. Rue whistled and he reapeated intently now that much more happier. Rue stood up and climbed the tree up higher looking down. A boy emerged from below with brown hair. Was he another tribute. Rue loaded her Slingshot with a left over piece of honey comb ready to fire. Frell hushed and looked down at the boy. He cocked his head slightly and whistled lightly. Rue stayed quiet but, Frell had given away her position. Frell wasn't that bright.

.X. ----------------------------------- Why was he here again? Jake could almost punch himself for yet again forgetting the reason why he came back to the forest. At least this time he actually had clothes on that would hopefully keep him warm. Plus, this time around he actually brought his sword without when he left the inn. It already has been a week since he showed up to Aledon. The sixteen year old already missed his home town, but more importantly his family. When will he be able to go home or is he going to be stuck here for the rest of his life? That was the one question that has been eating at him since the day he arrived here. “I should just go back to town.” He said to himself, turning around. There was no point in staying here. After all, the idiot had forgotten the reason to why he even came here to the forest anyway.
Then it hit him, the reason to why he came here was to see if there was a way to get back home to Umacia. Now the only problem was that he needed to find the area to which he came here through. Jake wasn’t the brightest person you’ll ever meet, but if he wanted something enough he is willing to do anything to get it. “Everything looks the same when it’s winter! There’s no way in hell that I’ll find where I arrived here!" At this point, Jake was starting to get a little angry at himself for even coming to this place. Not to mention that he was most likely risking his life coming to the forest. He should have listened to the townspeople and not have come alone.
The sixteen year did not even notice there was another person here. He was in too deep of thought of trying to find a way to get home. Nothing else matter to him at the moment. As far as Jake could tell, he was strong enough to fed off anything or anyone if he had to.

Rue sat alert in the trees. Carefully she narrowed her eyes at him. He looked about the right age to be a Hunger Games Tribute. Or was he a trap sent by the Gamemakers? Rue pressed her hand to her temple in frustration. Not knowing where you are or how you got here was very frustrating for the twelve year old. She dangled her feet from the tries and aimed her Slingshot a little ways from the boy. The honey comb took flight from her slingshot and struck the ground in front of him. "What are you doing out here?" The boy could ask Rue the same question but, she lived in the trees so she had a reason to be here. He did not look like he knew what he was doing.
Rue stood up, Frell resting on her shoulder. Carefully she climbed up a bit higher. Didn't want to be in the range of an arrow now did we? Now that that was taken care of Rue sat comfortably in the tree. Sure if he had a hatchet she could hack away at the tree but, Rue would have time to escape. Trees were really the only ally she needed until...well Katniss. Rue pushed Katniss from her mind she didn't want to start balling over someone. Instead Rue swayed her feet in a relieved matter almost mockingly to someone trying to catch her. As she had said in her Interview. She was fast and if they can't catch you they can't kill you. She had been caught in Marvel's snare. That wasn't a dream for sure but, how was she still alive. She thought she was anyway. Confusion over took Rue but, she remained looking calm and pleased with herself.

.X. ----------------------------------- As soon as the sixteen year old heard the voice of another, Jake immediately put his hand on the hilt of his sword. He didn’t know what to think, the townspeople warned him of the danger, but as usual he didn’t listen. Even though he was kind of sure of the voice belonged to a young girl. “I’m trying to find a way back home to Umacia.” The teen just figured to answer the girl’s question. It was probably for the best, it wasn’t like he knew where exactly where she was located. Jake guessed that she was nearby. “Why don’t you come out? I won’t hurt you. I promise.” It was probably pointless to ask for to come out, but he had to give it a try, right? Besides, this was Jake we were talking about there was no way he would here hurt anyone unless they did something to deserve it.
The sixteen year old sighed. It was pointless to be out here. If there was a way home, wouldn’t people from the different worlds go back? And it wasn’t like the magic he had was even strong enough to do anything like that. Plus, there was the little fact that Jake was too scared of using his magic in the first place. “My name is Jake by the way. What’s yours?” He said, looking around the forest to try and spot Rue, but couldn’t. Where could someone even be hiding? It was dead winter and the only thing that Jake saw was snow and trees everywhere. But, then again he was not the smartest guy around.

Rue listened carefully sensing for emotion in his tone. he didn't seem to be lying anyway. She pushed some of the leaves peeking through the branches. "Up here." she said waving her sand slowly. Frell sat on her lap and cocked his head and chirped once. "I'm Rue." She said coming out of the foliage.Camouflage hadn't been her best skill but, she guessed she did pretty good. Frell hopped from her lap and began chirping rapidly again. "Oh Frell." She said rolling her eyes at the bird with a smile. She whistled her four note tune and he repeated it before hopping back on her lap. "Umacia? I'm afraid I don't even know where a town is so I can't help you there." Rue frowned. Not that she really needed a town. All she needed could be found in the trees or in the forest. Rue zipped up her jacket. Why did she ever unzip it? It was freezing out here! She took a deep breath watching the steam float up into the air and fade. Now she wished she should have found or made a blanket. Oh well, would of should of could have. Katniss could probably make one. No mustn't think of Katniss or Thresh or anyone else. For now she focused on Jake. She needed something to do. Maybe he knew how to get to district 11. She doubted it but, whatever. she was pretty comfortable here anyways. Rue sighed. Where on earth was she? It sure didn't look or feel like Panem.

.X. ----------------------------------- Jake lifted his hand from his sword and looked up at Rue. It had been forever since he had climbed a tree. His father would always yell at him and Jacob for doing climbing trees. Last time he actually did had to be what eight years ago? “Aren’t you a bit too young to be out here alone? And why are you even out here? It’s freezing” The sixteen year old asked. When he first arrived here, he was wearing shorts with a short sleeve shirt on due to the fact the back in his world it was in the middle of summer. He could have froze to death without the help of Ruby. “Do you even know where you are? Besides in a forest?” Yet another question from Jake, which was usually for him. Besides, it didn’t really seem that Rue even know what was going. Was she another that was taken from her world and sent here? Jake didn’t hope it was so. He was not much help since also just got here only a week ago. Aledon was still a new place to him.
"Umacia? I'm afraid I don't even know where a town is so I can't help you there."
The sixteen year old couldn’t help, but laugh at Rue’s last comment. He knew it was wrong of him since she didn’t know any better, but Umacia was not a town. It was a huge, powerful kingdom that resides in his world. “Sorry, but Umacia is not a town. It’s a great and powerful kingdom to which lies in my world. I’m not from around here.” Jake just decided to leave it at that. It was very likely that he had a lot of explaining to do.

She smiled. "Depends on your definition of young." she said. Wasn't she freezing? Nope. "It's this fancy outfit." she said patting her sleeve. It was her tribute outfit. "Keeps you insulated." She took her hands tucking them in her pocket. Now that he'd mentioned it her face was getting a but cold. She'd tough it out though. "No idea where I am. Not even sure if I'm still in the Games." He had to know what the games where right? Was Umiaca a land like Panem here they watched kids die for fun? "So it's a land...like Panem?" she said still unsure if he knew of anything she did. "Do you know where we are?" she said looking around. it sure looked like the arena but, oh well. No way in a century would she climb down. Not when he had the sword. She remembered what Cato could do with a sword in cringed. She looked down at the snow below. She smiled sly when she saw the look on Cato's face when Katniss dropped the tracker jacker nest on him and his friends. Pssh. Careers. She smiled and looked back down snapping out of dreamland. Frell sat in her lap soaking up the conversation. He loved listening but, he liked to talk too. He repeated the tone of Jake's voice from his question if she was freezing. Frell you goof. Careful didn't want to upset someone with a sword. Especially when they could climb trees. Once more she chuckled remembering Cato trying to climb a tree. He had fell a long way.

.X. ----------------------------------- Jake was starting to get a little confused. He had never heard of a place called Panem. The only neighboring kingdom to Umacia was Bilkia. And games? What games? There were the knight games that the sixteen year was not allowed to take park in just yet. But why would a girl here age take any part of such games? “What is Panem…? I never heard of it… I don’t even know what games you are talking about.” He signed, thinking about his family. He missed them so much. Jake like Aledon was fine. The people here were for the most part kind, but he preferred to be back in Umacia. “This forest is dangerous to be in. The townspeople warned me not to come, so you shouldn’t be out here alone.” The teen already had to fight off a monster or two. He was just happy this go around he actually brought his trusty sword with him. If he didn’t, there was no telling what would have happened to him.
Was he really the one that had to explain the situation that Rue was in? He just got here himself and did not understand most of the stuff going on. Then again, Jake was not the smartest kid around. “Um…. Where ever you’re from, you are not there anymore. That’s probably why I never heard of the games or Panem. I myself just got not so long along. Anyway, you are in a place called Aledon.” The sixteen year old did not know how exactly to explain it to the younger girl before him. He probably was the best person to even be telling Rue all this however, he will be able to understand what she will have to go through.
When Jake heard the bird repeat after him, he actually thought it was kind of funny. It did remind him of the various talking birds that the princess had. The sixteen year old didn’t mind at all, he kind of liked it. “What kind of bird is that?” He couldn’t help, but ask. Jake was curious to know if it was the kind like the birds back home.

"Panems this place with 12 districts all poor except 2,4 and 1 still poor but better off than the rest. There's this capitol where poeple dress in these crazy colors and wears wigs. They look like dolls and-" She stopped was this a trick? Was he playing mind games with her? "The Games is where they take a boy and a girl from each districts to kill each other in an arena for their entertainment I was or am in these Games. So tell me Jake? What district are you?" She said he brain was now programed to think of everything as an attack! Curse these games! She pressed her hand to her face. "Look, I'm sorry about that." "Aledon? Sounds like a fancy place." Well to Rue everything without the word district or a number in it was a fancy town. Apparently the Capitol found it fun to strave children. "Oh him?" she said nudging Frell. "This is Frell he's a mockingjay. It's a Capitol thing gone wrong I guess. He's a good boy though." Frell was a good boy no matter how stupid he could be. rue was the bird and Frell was the wings as simple as that. They worked together and Rue never thought otherwise. Frell repeated her tone of voice proving the fact he was a Mockingjay. He flapped his wings and spun around. This reminded her of Katniss's interview dress. Her eyes glossed over and a single tear dripped down her face. She looked back at Jake unsure of what to do. She couldn't stay in these trees forever. What was Rue to do?

.X. ----------------------------------- At this point, Jake was just utterly confused. Nothing that Rue just explained to him made any sense. Why would people do such a thing? But in the end he just left it at that. Surely, the sixteen year old was not the right one to be explaining Aledon to the younger girl. He did not fully understand the situation he and apparently Rue were placed in. “I’m probably not the best one to be explaining the situation you are in…. I don’t understand fully myself…” He decided to leave it at that. Everything was so different here than to what he was used to. The only thing he really enjoyed about this world was that nobody knew or cared about who he was. “Are you going to come down?” Jake asked. Was it a good idea to bring her into town? Maybe he was just too kind for his own good. Other people would most likely just leave her here in the forest, however the sixteen year old could never do such a thing.
It fell quite for moment. When Jake was about to speak out once again, a group of about five orcs came running with sword in hand ready to attack the teen. Just great like he hadn’t have enough fighting for his life in day. He was clearly outnumbered, but that didn’t matter to him. He wouldn’t want Rue to get a part of this fight even if it was the death of him. “Never mind, stay there. I can hopefully handle this on my own.” He said, pulling out his own sword. It had been a while since he had fought orcs, but then again they were probably not like the ones back in Umacia. Within a few minutes, the sixteen year old was able to kill three out of five orcs, leaving tow he had to deal with. He was breathing hard, already tired from the battle. These orcs were nothing like the ones back home. They were a lot stronger and faster than what he was used to.
Jake was able to dodge one of the orc’s attack, only to be attacked by the other. However, he did not enough time to dodge the other. The orc’s blade sliced through the teen’s right arm, his sword wielding arm, causing blood to gush out and land on the pure white snow. A small yelp of pain escaped Jake’s lips; he tried his best to ignore the pain. There was no way in hell he would be beaten by these morons. He was able to pull through enough strength to dodge another attack, which lead to his own stabbing of the orc. In the end the damned thing fell over dead. Only one more left, but in the condition Jake was in, it was not likely he had enough strength left to defeat another.

"I haven't decided yet." she said with a smile. Then the orcs barreled into the forest. Great. More muttation like things. She reached for her slingshot and grabbed a handful of bark. She climbed down half way and leaped down doing a front flip and landing on her feet. Hunger Games Training. Wasn't it great? Her feet moved quickly the orc's weapons tried to move upon her but her dodged easily with her small size. She was now in front of the orc and he swung the back of her slingshot into the back of the orc's knee. Blood oozed from it's leg. It wailed and Rue hammered it into his leg slightly above the wound. Now the orc was really wailing. She'd hit a nerve. She smiled and the thing groaned and clutched it's leg.It whacked her aside but she ran back to it. It's head leaned down and with a quick thrust her foot was smacking his nose. The thing fell back. luckily this had been the smallest and weakest of the orcs. She probably would have died or gotten hurt if not.She smiled slyly and jogged over to Jake. Her sides were heaving but, all in all she was ok besides a black eye. "I guess I had to come down." She shrugged. "Stay here. I'm going to go get some herbs." She climbed up the tree and brought down her bag from the games. She fumbled through it's items and took out two long leaves. She grimaced and chewed them up and smeared it over his cuts. It would sting but, feel good. Just like when you wiggled that really loose tooth. She sat down. "We should make a note to stop getting hurt. Ok?" she said.

.X. ----------------------------------- Jake always found himself getting hurt in any given situation. He always tripping over things, getting beat up, the list could go on and on. This wasn’t his first wound in battle and it probably was not going to be the last. After all, he wanted to become a knight more than anything. “You’re kidding, right? I’ve had way worse than this. Besides, it’s just a scratch, nothing more. ” The pain was starting to crease. The wound however, was not so bad to begin with. The orcs were an easy bunch to kill; the sixteen year old was just outnumbered. The orcs here were different then the ones from what he was used to fight. They were a lot faster, stronger, and somewhat smarter. “Try almost getting killed by an insane guy named Ryder, who thinks it’s density to kill you or something around those lines.” Jake was kind of happy about hopefully never seeing him ever again. That guy already did enough damage to the teen. Besides, if he was going to be stuck in Aledon for the rest of his life, why not make the best of it.
“We better find somewhere safer to stay for at least while.” The sixteen year old knew that orcs travel in great number and the ones the two just killed were probably scouts or something around those lines. Anyway, his sword wielding arm was wounded, leaving him at a great disadvantage. Sure, he was still able to fight somewhat, but it would cause him a lot of pain, not to mention that there would probably be over twenty orcs. “Those things travel in packs of like twenty and seeing as we had trouble killing only five, it’s best to run.” Once in a while, the smart battle Jake would show up. He understood a great deal about many monsters, but the information he had were about the ones back in Umacia. Although he doubted that the monsters here were completely different, they were just different in some ways, not others.
