.X. ----------------------------------- Another idiot move on Jake, he didn’t even see why he was trying anymore. It was probably best to just give up for now and find something productive to do. He should have stayed in bed because that always solved his problems. He had already traveled in and out of the city several times with no hope of finding any way back to Umacia. The kid just wanted to go home to see his family. He did not belong here and the other boys his age made it clear. He only just arrived in Aledon not so long ago, and already there was a pack of three teenage boys were bulling him. Jake was rather on the short and not so muscular side. No one really believed him that he was a knight in training. Sure, he was highly skilled with a sword, but as for the various weapons he needed help in fully mastering them. Which came to another problem, not many people would like to train someone as small and clumsy as Jake. To the sixteen year old it did not seem like he would never accomplish his dream of becoming a knight like every male in his family did.
Maybe it was the cold weather that made him feel this way. Or it could just be the fact that no matter what he did, his mind would go straight back to thinking about the family that he left behind back in his world. Jake knew it would take time to adjust to things here, but he just wished everything was back to normal. Yet again, the sixteen year old was not paying much attention to where he was going, and trip over a rock, which was on the pathway, landing face first in the snow. At first, he didn’t bothering getting up. The same thing just kept on happening to the poor kid, luckily this time he didn’t break some else’s belongings. Or so he hoped.

Cold air brushed her pale cheek as she opened the door to her home. The smell of cold bitter winter air flooded her nose. Her father's leather boots were laced up tight. Her journal was in her hand. She drew away on it vigeroulsy recording a plant her father had brought from his travels. Her blue eyes scannced the page checking for flaws in the image. Walking in winter was very dangerous buisness for the girl. Which why she probably shouldn't have been writing away at her little journal. Head still burried deep in the journal as she read over the text and added periods and commas here and there. One drop of water and she had her instant blue-green tail the color of the carribean sea. Then, with a thud a boy crashed into her. She froze as her journal dropped and she stepped back breify to process whta had happened. The boy's face was burried in the snow. Great way to make friends huh? "Oh My! Are you ok?" After a few seconds of processing, Melody picked up her journal tucking it in her cloak. Then she offered a hand to the boy to help him get up. If his hand held the wettness of snow the poor girl would be in trouble. This had not occured to her. so with all her strength she wished she had not extended the hand. A nervous emotion of epic proportions surged through her. What a way to get caught huh? Well what happens is her fault. Should have stayed inside today. Nice going Melody M. Grandere.

.X. ----------------------------------- Jake imminently stood up and bushed himself off. Good thing this time he bumped into what seemed to be a nice lady. “I’m so sorry. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going!” The sixteen year apologized the best way he could. He must have tripped, fallen, and bumped into many people in his life time it wasn’t even funny. Although many people in end would just beat the kid for what he’d done. “I didn’t hurt you did I?” he couldn’t help, but ask even though it didn’t seem she was the one who got hurt. He could start to feel a nose bleeding coming on. Maybe the snow did not soften the kid’s fall after all. Overall, he just decided to deal with it when it finally came.
It fell quite, leaving the teen to feel a little awkward. He was not exactly sure of what to say or even to do beyond his moment. It had to been at least another minute before Jake actually spoke up. “I’m Jake by the way…” He had to at least introduce himself, right? It was the least he could have done. He was the one who bumped into her. “I should probably get going…” The teen only took one step before he bumped into someone else, but this time he wasn’t so lucky. Jake had bumped into a man, who had to be twice the size of him. Crap… not again…. Before he was even able to open his mouth to say he was sorry the man pushed the sixteen year old to the ground, and stormed off in a random direction, leaving Jake on the floor. The only thing he was able to think of was at least this time he didn’t get himself beaten.

"I'm fine." She said glancing to another alley way. She couldn't just run off! "I'm Melody." She pursed her lips as his nose began to bleed. She frowned and cringed as she picked up her cloak. Mother would be furious. Oh well. She torn away some of the fine creamy colroed fabric and handed it to him so he could wip it away. Then the man with brute strength shoved him aside. She gritted her teeth. "Watch where you're going!" She snapped at the man. Good gracious. Annoying people. Gotta hate them. "It was me that wasn't paying attention." she admitted. Of course this was true. She sighed as the wet dampness on her hand brought her back to relality. Using the cloak she scrubbed the wet snow dampness from her cloak. She probably look stuck up but, she was pretty sure they couldn't talk with her legs replaced by a tail. "Tell me Jake, your not from here are you?" She said gently. After her yell at the man she needed to be more respectable. She wondered if his nose didn't heal up (Which she thought was entirely her fault) if she could use her powers to slow the blood flow down. Blood was mostly made of water wasn't it. Stop being a freak Melody! That's not how to make friends at all. She wrapped her warm cloak around herself as if afraid the tail was still to come. She shifted her poistion waiting for a reply from Jake.

.X. ----------------------------------- Today just didn’t seem to be a very good one for the kid. He already been through a lot and it was still pretty early in the morning. Oh why didn’t he just sleep in like he always did? “Yeah…. I’m still kind of new to this place.” It had to been about two weeks since he’d arrive here in Aledon. However, he did meet some friends here and there, killed some monsters, and even got a new pack of other boys to bully him. The only thing he was missing was a teacher and or master to teach him the ways of being a knight. That and someone to watch out for the kid, Jake always got himself in some sort of trouble whether it be dealing with monster or people alike. “I’m from a kingdom called Umacia. I’m supposed to be a knight in training, but I don’t really know that many people here.” He decided to leave it at that. The sixteen year old was still getting used to being here. His family and everything he loved was out of reach, leaving him with not that much hope and happiness anymore. Hell, one of the reasons to why he didn’t sleep as much as he was use to was because of the awful nightmare he would have about various things that haunted him. He just needed someone or something to get his mind in the right place again.
“What about you? Are you from here?” Jake knew it was probably none of his business, but yet again he couldn’t help, but ask. He took a quick look around, finally realizing the idiot had no idea to which he was. How could he have gotten himself lost again? Whenever this nose bleed came, he would be pretty much screwed. Why do these bad things keep happening to him? For now Jake decided to ignore the fact that he was lost and actually maybe make a new friend. Which was something that the boy needed more than anything at the moment.

"Welcome to Aledon then, Jake. A knight in training. I'll let you know if I find a trainer for you." She smiled a Umacia was not a kingdom she had heard of but, it sounded pretty fancy. Probably a kingom her mother would move to in a heartbeat. Her mother was beinging to become a bother now starting to drag Melody to the boring parties more often. All she really wanted though was to explore. Why couldn't her mother except that? "Yes I am from Aledon." She hoped Melody could help Jake somehow like finding him a trainer. "Jake were are you staying during your visit to Aledon?" She could surely find one of her father's friends to rent him a room in their home while he stayed in Aledon. Melody knew her mother would be waiting for her to come home soon but, Melody decided she would have to wait. Ther ush of people had kicked in and people were now flooding into the road. "Can I treat you to some lunch so we don't get run over?" She said with a kind hearted smile. It was true no one waited for you to cross they either ran you over to slammed into you. People were very snobbish in this part of Aledon mostly because they were rich or 'new money' as her mother called them. People that had become rich pratically over night from a loved one's will or a gold mine in the mountains. Let's stop thinking of those people and focus ont his coversation Melody!

.X. ----------------------------------- Jake was somewhat used to these types of crowds. He had came from a rich and powerful family back home. It was going to take a while for him to get comfortable with this new life in Aledon. The sixteen year old already tried looking for a teacher. No one wanted a short and unmuscular kid to train even if he was great with a sword. “I was more like forced to come here. I’d rather be back home with my family.” The sixteen year old said. Why did he have to bring up his family? It only pained him that he couldn’t go back home to his family’s manor. Whenever he tried to forget about his old life in Umacia, something always reminded him of everything. He was supposed to become a knight to protect his friends and family. There was no point in becoming a knight in Aledon anymore. There was no one to protect here let alone someone willing to teach him.
The sixteen year old did his best to push away the unwanted thoughts of his. This was no time to be getting upset about being taken away from his loved one. “I’m actually staying at the inn. It’s kind of small to compared to what I’m used to.” There he goes again, thinking about his homeland. Why did Jake have to keep doing this to himself? He needs to think positive like in Aledon there was no Ryder or Nymera to worry about. No one trying to kill him, he was just getting bullied by these random teenagers in town. Nothing that he couldn’t handle on his own.
That is when Melody brought up the matters of food. The last time Jake could remember when he ate last was yesterday morning. He didn’t have the money for food. He wasn’t even capable of finding a job let alone keep one. Why was he cursed with being so clumsy? His stomach grumbled with the thought of food. The teen did his best to ignore it although it was pretty loud and clear. “I would love to…. But I don’t have any money…” It didn’t feel right making a girl he just met pay for his food no matter how hungry he was. Jake’s father always taught him it was the man’s job to pay for the meal, not the women. Anyway it was rude for him to be asking her such a thing.
