Flanna returned home with more inks and an array of fresh fruit, straight from the market. Her basket was full to the brim, and she had news for her husband, who was also out, somewhere keeping his archery skill sharp. She knew he'd be back around the same time she planned to, but it looked now like she'd gotten here first. With a smile, she put away her inks and placed the basket of fruits on the table. Kili had told her that her new house was nearly completed, and she could not wait to see the place where they would live together for many years. She went back and sat on the edge of the bed, shedding her surcoat and laying it gently beside the pillow. Her actions were all happy and deliberate, light and anticipative. She could not wait for Kili to be home. For a little while, Flanna moved back over to her desk to make notes on the day, the moon last night, the weather today. She was certain now. She knew something that was going to change the life of both she and her husband, but all for the better. As she filed through the papers on the desk, she stopped at a letter--one she'd recieved two months ago. Her heart stopped for a moment and she read it all the way through for the first time. Two feelings coursed simultaneously through her veins. She still mourned her brother, but... Oh, Kili would be so happy! The feelings wrapped themselves around her, in some strange embrace, and she felt for a moment still and poetically joyous. She hid that paper away, under many other more recent writings (which thankfully Kili had helped her to resume) and went back to sitting on the bed restlessly, staring at the door until finally it opened and she dashed to the man who arrived there, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him like crazy. He probably wasn't expecting it, but she did not care. She looked him in the eyes, smiling more brightly than she had in a long time, and there were nearly tears brimming there as she stared at him. He was so beautiful, and she noticed the sparkle in his eyes back at her. "Guess what?" she asked him, almost spilling the news already. Her heart beat out of her chest, and her voice was verging on cracking. She was too excited.

Kili had spent hours of the past few weeks finishing up Flanna's home. A rich, beautiful home flooded with colors and exotic plants from every vendor he could find. The walls he had crafted himself, forging them of both wood and metal, to keep the heat in for winter but allow the breezes in the summer, he had carved the furniture meticulously and polished it down until it gleamed. he had filled it with furnishings he knew not how to make, and had bought from others, numerous bedrooms, a guest bathroom, along with a private one for her, and... he had built her a workshop. Lined with shelves stocked with every kind of ink he could find, and parchments ranging from thick and tough to thin as a tissue. The rest of his gold had gone to filling this room with every kind of writing utensil he could find, and he could not wait to show her.
He had placed the final touches on it today and had forged her a single key to fit the front lock, his own, was not near as detailed or elaborate and hung from a leather band around his neck. The house would more than likely be his greatest accomplishment, he could forge blades and weapons of wonder, but he knew he would never construct something so beautiful ever again. Behind her home was a gentle hillside, large enough for her to place whatever animals she wished for... he could not think of a better prize than this to present too her. But he had finished early and he knew she would still be gone for quite so time... so what to do?
With a coy smile he took up his bow, perhaps a nice dinner with some wine and he could surprise her with her home? He could take her there after dinner, see what she thought of the place, she could explore every room, critique anything she did not like and he would do his damndest to fix it for her, and then, perhaps she might indulge him in some less than fancy activities. The possibilities were endless. he spent the day hunting, gathering herbs and spices that he recognized and finally scoring himself a hearty stag, he stripped it of its meat. With a crooked smile, and a quick stop to pick up a nice bottle of wine he trailed back to her tiny apartment. He nudged open the door with his hip, imagining a thousand scenarios of how she might react to her home. He opened his mouth to call out to her, but was taken by surprise when she suddenly appeared before him and kissed him with a passion he was powerless to fight.
"Well..." He spoke once his tongue was working properly once more. "If that wasn't the best greeting I have ever received I'm not quite sure what is."

Flanna was so excited, not only about the house he was building her--and should soon be done with (she was so absolutely thrilled to see the place but he would not yet let her in it; her anticipation swelled in curiosity)--but about this news. Oh, it was good news, and she'd been keeping it in for about a month now to make certain that it was true. And now, she knew. She was so excited. They were going to move into that new house with a wonderful future to look forward to. No more looking back; Flanna was going to focus ahead and turn her attention on the family that'd she would raise in a house that her husband, her true love, built for her. All these thoughts brought a broad grin to her face as she ran to embrace her Kili. He had several things with him, and she was lucky not to knock anything out of his hands. When she'd finished kissing him, she pulled everything from his hands and set it aside, her smile never fading. She dragged him over to sit with her on the side of the bed saying, "And for good reason! I shall kiss you forever for this!" When she said this she planted one more kiss. Now, it was time. She would tell him. Flanna stood up and sat on his legs where they hung off the bed, holding onto his shoulders and facing him with the broadest of smiles on her face and tears beginning to fill her eyes. Flanna gave him one more kiss, so clearly could she see his face. She looked into his onyx, beautiful, deep eyes and took a deep breath. "Kili, my love..." Her heart was absolutely racing. "I'm pregnant!" She smiled so brightly and one tear escaped from her eye, but she knew Kili had to be just as happy, just as proud.

Kili watched with poorly suppressed amusement as she seemed to be in a fluent tizzy about something. So excited was she! She zipped around her small space with speeds he had never seen her move. She divested him of all of her surprises and dumped them, they held her attention for scarcely a fleeting moment and now his curiosity was piqued. More often than not she thanked him profusely for anything he brought her, much to his own charigan. It mattered little if it was her wedding ring, or a simple bag of groceries, he had warned her he intended on spoiling her silly... but this was strange, she hadn't so much as glanced at the items, and instead all of her excitement was propelled straight back at him and her words only increased his curiosity, what on earth had her so bloody excited?
"Don't leave me in suspense woman! Out with it! What has you so bloody excited!" Laughter filtered his words. He usually did not swear around her, but he couldn't help him, she had gotten him so curious and he needed to know what had possibly happened in the last few hours to make her so thrilled. "I have a surprise for you as well." He never wished to think him cross with her and he was quick to tag it on, making sure she did not think he had grown frustrated with her... oh she had him wrapped around her delicate fingers didn't she? He followed her like a pony on lead as she led him to her bedroom, plopping down beside her. Apparently her smile was contagious and he couldn't help but to return it, willing her to continue.
"You're..." When she finally did, shock overruled everything else in his brain. His thought process stopped working, his brain ceased his function and he was pretty sure he heard his conscious whisper something along the lines of 'its dark in here...' and after a brief moment of utter and total silence everything jump started and went hyper speed, adrenaline coursing through his veins like a raging river and with a shout of joy, he caught her around the waist and swept her straight off the bed and into his arms, twirling her around and around the room. He finally set her back down, placed a hand on her still lithe stomach and kissed her soundly on the mouth. He had not the words to express his joy.

It was such a wonderful, scary, thing to have happen. But Flanna knew now. It had been two months, and no bleeding, and she had to assume the best. She'd felt ever so slightly nautious when she'd awoken this morning, but it had passed and when she'd left, she'd had a physician check her symptoms. His place had been just outside the market, and in a convenient place for her to visit before shopping. He'd told her that he thought it true as well. And it had made her so very happy! She was going to bring Kili's child into their world; they were now bound not only by marriage but by flesh, in a child... Oh, she was overjoyed! There were no words from Kili's mouth. He simply lifted her, spun her, round and round and round until she feared she could take no more, and when he set her down gave her a dizzying kiss, which she could not even comprehend because his reaction was so happy and vibrant and dizzying. But Flanna finally regained her senses, and pulled both of his hands to her stomach to feel, despite that she could not even feel it yet. "It's ours. We made it," she whispered to him, smiling in pride and admiration of him. He was such a handsome fellow, and she secretly hoped the child more resembled him, for though she was not allowed to degrade herself in front of him, she certainly thought him the more attractive of their pair. She grinned, and kissed him again. "I take it you're as excited as I am," she questioned him, but she already had her answer. She just wanted to see it in his eyes, wanted him to tell her how much he would love this child. "What, then is your surprise, if it was not in that bundle you so graciously brought me?" She smiled down toward the floor but placed a hand on his cheek, letting her thumb rub it softly. She did love him so.

Kili had never pictured a life for himself. Not even in his younger days had he dreamed of glory, or becoming a war hero destined for greatness, he had never dreamed of having a family, a kingdom, not even a home. He had dreamed only of restoring Erebor to Thorin, to watch their banners once again flutter high and mighty on the Lonely Mountain. he thought of defeating Smaug alongside his uncle, blade raised high and ready to die for him should such a need arise. He had never thought of himself, never had he allowed his thoughts to turn so selfish, and beyond reclaiming Erebor... there was nothing because it had not been done. Perhaps if they would have succeeded, he would have thought of taking a wife, settling down, retiring as Thorin's advisor and whatever other station Thorin wished of him. Kili had always tied himself to Thorin's fate. His loyalty was unmatched, probably even by his own brother.
But now... much to his own disbelief, he had a gorgeous wife, a delicate, dainty thing that had wrapped herself around his heart and seemed intent on holding him captive and not only did he have a wife, he had a baby, a child on the way. His child. He needed to find Thorin, he knew his uncle was here, somewhere traipsing the wilderness no doubt but he needed to find him, tell him. Kili a father! Some small life form was going to call him daddy, look up to him, be his shadow, walk in his footsteps. It mattered little to him if it was a boy or a girl, he was going to be a father! And this beautiful, stunning, perfect woman was going to be his partner, that small life forms mother, and Kili had no idea what to say, he was so exuberant!
"Flanna... excited does not do justice to what I feel! I am going to be a father and you... you will be the most kind and loving mother! We are going to have a family!"[/color] He was filled with so much love, so much concern and so much utter devotion for his wife in this moment, he knew not what to do, kiss her senseless? Announce this news in the streets? He was filled with so much energy at this wondrous news.
"My surprise is not even a flickering flame compared to yours, but I have finished our home... your home, our child's home. Would you like to see the house we will have a child in?" Now he was so excited for so many different thing he felt himself pulled in so many different directions! He needed to relieve some of his tension, he swept her back up into his arms and kissed her until he was breathless. God did he love her.

Flanna was having a hard time believing what was going on. Her husband and her greatest friend was going to go on a journey with her, one that would be long and worthwhile. They were going to raise a family and live in a wonderful home for a long time, for all of their days... Och, she could not help but smile at him, even when she was at a loss for words. She loved him and this and this child already. They were destined for a good future, she hoped, where both of their pasts could remain in their places. No more grief, no more tears. No more mourning because of the wicked deeds of others. At least in this moment, Flanna felt at peace. "We are certainly the luckiest people in the world!" she declared, and then continued, "And I am the luckiest woman. I have a strong, beautiful, wonderful husband. And now he has given me a child." She hugged him, feeling suddenly a great joy as she realized the child was now between them, and then she smiled as she watched his face. Her home? It was done? "Oh, Kili! You're so good to me. To... our child. I cannot wait to see it!" But before she could say anymore, Kili had swept her up and was kissing her until she was senseless. She could not even think when he was so close to her. He was so perfect for her, he was her everything. She let him do what he would, because she would never be able to deny him. He did so many wonderful things for her and it drove her crazy. "We must away, then," she proposed, resting a hand heedlessly on her stomach. He'd given her a child. He was the father of her child. And she loved him too much.

Kili was so excited he knew not what to do, this wonderful, flawless, exceptional woman was all his and now she had given him a child, how could he ask for a more perfect life? His best friend, his partner in life, his everything had graced him with a family. The family he had never had as a child. He had not told of her of all the wrong doings in his past but he would have too. He could not let his unborn child, whom he already loved with all of his being, be infected by his sadness, he would need her strength more than anything, but together they could do anything, Kili was positive. They would live happily, he would bathe her in riches and diamonds and everything else a beautiful woman such as her desired. He would make sure such sadness never graced her eyes again. He would see to her every need, every whim... and now he needed to make a crib...
"We shall be a family Flanna, full of laughter and love! Never a sad or dull moment between us. We shall be blessed with a child, we will be parents! You a mother! I a father!" His excitement was so grand! No matter how much he spoke the words, their impact never lessened! He a father! He wasn't sure if he had the patience to wait eight months. He could not stop kissing her, squeezing her, touching her stomach... he did not think it possible to feel so much for one being as he did for her.
"Come my love your castle awaits!" In his enthusiasm, he hoisted her up into his arms, abandoning his celebratory meal... he was far too excited to dodge questions throughout the evening, he wanted to see her in the home he had built her, pregnant with his child, knowing that his family would grow up there. He never released her, stalking through Aledon with a furious stride and steadfastly ignoring any curios glance he might obtain. The city came and went and his grip on her only tightened, his pace ever faster, kissing her, occasionally when the urge struck him. Finally he reached her home and set her down in front of it, grinning crookedly all the while, he would let her explore, he wanted to see her face when she found her studio.

There were no words for happiness of this extreme. There never would be. It was something one had to feel in his heart, in his soul, and nothing could ever replace or mimick it. Flanna, for one, was overjoyed. Exuberant. Exaltant. Nothing could compare to the splendor of feelings such as this was. She was having a baby--that truth was hard enough to accept without bursting from joy--and she had the best husband in the world, who loved her no matter what, who made love to her at her whims, who showered her in beautiful things she did not deserve, who was just as strapping as Apollo himself. She knew that she was lucky. Kili was so happy, and she'd never seen him so. He could not keep his hands from her any longer, and he seemed himself to be as impatient as she. "We shall indeed have a blessed life." She smiled as he took her lips in another gentle, anxious kiss. He was going to be a wonderful father, she declared, and they were going to be the happiest, luckiest, and most caring parents in the world. Their child would lack for nothing. Strength and beauty from him, knowledge and elouence from her. It was perfect. And Kili picked her up and carried her all the way across the city that she didn't mind letting see them, in their joy, and out to the house that he had spent his time building, originally for her but now for three of them. He handed her a key, which she wanted to spend much time looking over but chose instead to open the door to her house--theirs--which she'd already noticed was beautiful outside. And inside! It opened to a lovely sitting room, a kitchen just beyond... She could not take it. This room in itself was bigger than her little place. She turned, smiled hugely at Kili, and kissed him deeply. But his eyes said to go on, and she did, exploring and marveling and thanking him constantly for all of it. Her bathroom, bedroom... And then she saw it. He'd made her a room stocked with everything she could dream for. Inks, parchments, a desk and so many candles... quills of this size and that, books for inspiration! "Kili! My love, this is... far beyond anything I could have asked you for! It is beautiful, wonderful, amazing..." She went on but she was stopped by his lips.

Kili could not get over the fact that he was about to be a part of a family. Not the wandering lost band of kin, but an honest to God family, with a home, with a house, with a child, with all the love and affection in his soul that he could muster. He would drown her in it. Her and the child that she carried of his! He would never stop loving her until she grew either physically nauseated by his presence and forced him to leave or his last breath escaped his body. He would do anything, everything, for this woman. She was his heart, his soul, the blood that pumped through his veins, she was his reason for existence. Well... she and Thorin.
He carried her across Aledon because he needed her close to him. Her warmth, the smell of her hair, the soft fragrance of her skin. This was his wife, his lover, his best friend and soon to be mother of his child and the attachment he felt too her, was beyond his comprehension. He did not understand how he could love someone so utterly, so entirely. Others that passed him on the street, he addressed them kindly, but no matter how beautiful or how luxurious they seemed to be, his mind did not spare them a second thought. A litany of Flanna's name, her scent, her smile, her laugh... it was the only thing he lingered on, the only thing that mattered. She was perfect, flawless, no one could match her and she was his.
He watched with anxious eyes as her eyes roamed the house e had spent the better part of the last two months constructing and he followed her obediently, watching her eyes widen and gentle gasps escape her mouth as she glanced at this and that. Pride swelled up in his chest and he smiling knowingly as she ventured about the home. Finally...finally she drew close to the room he had built just for her and the look on her face... he would have built her a castle if he thought he could procure it again. She thanked him profusely, spewing her praise with eloquence and decorum that he lacked and he simply couldn't resist kissing her, he kissed her until the world was spinning once again and he was at a loss for breath. He could not loose himself in her though, at least not now, he had once more present for her.
"My Flanna... there is one more gift I wish to bestow upon you." He held her back to stop her kisses, t let his runaway brain relax and calm him. It would do him no quarter and the poor thing did need to be released. With a mischievous grin he turned on his heel and headed for the back porch. "On the off chance I get called away with the rest of the militia, or a hunting trip, or whatever other unfortunate thing drags me away from you. My wife will need a companion, someone to keep her company." He slid open the back door and a great copper ball of fur and excitement barreled past him and leapt upon Flanna. Kili laughed long and hard as the dog bathed her in a thousand kisses. "He has been trained to your scent love. He is yours to name and do with as you please." Kili laughed, quite pleased with himself that he had thought to buy her as such, now their child would have a companion too.

Flanna's mind took to wondering how well she'd bear a pregnancy. All other things aside, the happiness and joy and overwhelming mirth of anticipation, she was scared. She did not know what it would be like to have a child, to get such a great-sized thing out of her body. And she had heard, from her mother, that children were not easy to carry the last couple of months. And... and what about her nights with Kili? Would those have to cease for another seven months? She did not know that she could bear that, should it be so. She loved him so much and loved when he made love to her. But they were quickly at her house and she took kindly to exploring the place, which spun her mind and made her marvel at the attention he had paid to every detail. Was ever there a woman so lucky as she was, with a husband so good? She could think of none. Her own family was no great show of affection, besides... Carson. Darren and Brian had been good but they were not him. Brian was a serious, studious, and very cold boy--man--who was always intent on doing as he pleased. He had moved out when he had turned twenty-two to marry a very plain woman and have his own farm on clan lands at the edge of the low country. Darren was a year younger than Flanna and she'd always protected him. Her parents? She could not stand them, but chose to think lovingly rather than badly. She'd rather just not say. Och! But this room! All the wonderful things that lined its walls reminded Flanna that she had work to do now, to keep them stocked with some degree of wealth, and especially now that there would be a third to feed. He kissed her fervently, until she could not tell the difference between his lips and her own, and the joy that was filling her heart poured into her eyes. "More? There's not..." She could not find the words to protest. And in bounded a creature that delighted her, lit up her eyes. It was a beautiful little ball of fur, a sweet dog that licked her and kissed her almost as much as Kili. She calmed the thing and let it sit in her lap on the floor, as she stroked it and chastised it, saying, "You mustn't hurt the baby." She laughed, though, and thanked Kili with her eyes. Looking back to the dog, Flanna said, "Croi. Your name is Croi. It means heart, and you've a very sweet heart." She looked back up at Kili. Then she stood and went to him, Croi following, and gave him a huge embrace, kissing him and saying, Thank you, thank you, thank you." After a second, she looked mischieviously up at him and asked, "Do you know the limits of... play... during pregnancy?" She hugged him and giggled like a young girl.

Kili's mind did not linger on such stages of her pregnancy. It mattered little to him if she was as thin as a poke or as large as a house. She was beautiful and stunning to him forever, always. She was his wife, to hold, to love to cherish for all of times and dwarves had never taken marriage lightly. The act of sex was fairly commonplace and most indulged just to blow off steam, male and female alike, but when two decided to marry, it was a sacred vow. Dwarves did not accept divorce unless astounding exceptions arose and even then it was highly frowned upon and considered dishonorable. Sacred promises and vows were what the dwarves were known for. If such things were broken it was right up there with treason. He would cater to her every whim, her every desire, what she wanted was hers she need only ask. If her pregnancy was difficult, he would bring her the best midwife he could find, if it was easy, he would rub her feet and massage her back, he was her slave, now and forever.
She seemed utterly pleased with the home he had built her and he was thrilled. Smiling ever-so-pleasantly and allowing her to admire her new home. She was pregnant, she would not lift a finger, he would cart all of her things here in the morning, he had already arranged to borrow the horse and the cart... as much as he hated the four legged beasts he had gotten one... for her. He was wrapped around her fingers and he knew it, hell she probably knew it too but Kili just couldn't bring himself to care, as long as it was her fingers he was wrapped around, she could play him whenever she wished. She began to protest her final gift before he got the door but he was having known of it, and he glanced back at her with a playful, but stern look.
"Flanna. You are everything to me. The reason I draw breath into my lungs. The reason my heart pumps life through my veins. The first thing I think of in the morning, and the last thought when I sleep. I warned you I would spoil you rotten and I intend to do just so." And with that, the door was flung open and the ball of excited fur was upon his blushing bride with a ferocity that almost made him jealous. He approved of her name of the "ferocious" beast immediately. He had had a brief moment of panic wherein he had been struck with the notion that perhaps she did not like dogs, or was, even worse, afraid of them, but that was quickly assuaged at her exuberant reaction and he relaxed, and then she was at his side, hugging and kissing his senses away, thanking him profusely. He laughed, lifted her, carried her across the threshold and tossed her onto the bed, Croi bounding in behind them and he grinned wickedly at her next words.
"Play... is well accepted for the first several months, it's in the later stages that we must be careful." He dropped his voice to those low baritones he knew she loved and kissed her, only to feel the dog catapult onto his back and knock the wind out of him, with a grunt he rolled onto his side, grabbing the ball of fluff and hoisting it up into the air, its tail batting back and forth at a hundred miles an hour. "Of course the dog... might prevent play." It barked happily, thrilled at the attention.

It made Flanna's head spin, to try and comprehend how much he had to love her. He had done so much just for her, out of the love in his heart, and she did not understand why he could love her, Flanna MacDowell, so much. Her name had been such a disgrace for so long, but now those nine letters did not mean anything. They were a way to identify and no more representative of the past. The most recent MacDowell to meet a grave had been a very good one, in fact. Flanna smiled at her husband. He was the greatest man she had ever had the good fortune to meet. His words brightened her already-wide smile and as the copper dog bounded toward her, and the thing found its way quickly into her heart. Croi, he would be, and Flanna petted him lovingly, letting him get used to her. "You are far too good to me, Kili." She turned her attention to the dog as she stood up to join her love, and whispered, "Croi, you must be good to me, okay? And when we have the baby, you shall be its best friend." She grinned at the dog and hugged the man who had chosen it for her. It was impossible for her to comprehend his feelings, but she knew of her own and thought that they must have been very similar. He lifted her into the air, his laugh resounding merrily in her ears, and she giggled along with him as he carried her to their bedroom. She landed on the bed, the soft bed, and he over her. His grin was infectious, and she shared it. Just as he was teasing her with his words, his wonderful, luscious voice, Croi decided to join them. She'd gotten out a response, barely, saying, "But for now... you will still love me every night?" And then the dog joined them and took Kili from her. She laughed at the sight, though, of her husband holding up the puppy, the precious little thing. She reached over and took Croi out of his hands, bringing the dog to her stomach and petting him until he was mellow. When he was calm, she set him down on the floor, where he curled up and began to sleep. She turned her attentions back to Kili, saying, "Motherly affection," as her excuse. With a sideways, wicked smile, she asked him pulling him over to her, "Where were we... Och, yes. Thanking you."

He wondered often if his wife loved him to the same degree of fierceness that he loved her, yes she had been ecstatic to be his bride, yes she had been more than willing with him behind closed doors and she had been nothing but sweet and kind outside where society deemed a great many things immoral... but her affections were more muted, soft and while they suited her personality beautifully, he wondered often if she would not have something better. Kili was the nephew of a king without a crown, he had killed a vast many things in his life, he had never had a solid family, and while he loved Thorin and Fili dearly, he knew very little of love or affection, a vast majority of everything he tried with Flanna was guess work. He was just lucky and seemed to guess correctly. He spoke his heart, told her his thoughts and so far it seemed to work, but he wondered if she did not yearn for something more? He did not think he had the heart to let her go if she wished as such.
"I am only as good as you deserve my lady." But then, of course, his lady spoke and like a sailor to a siren, which he still wasn't totally convinced she wasn't one, his attention flocked heedlessly too her, returning her embrace with a powerful one of his own. He was glad she loved the dog. He had chosen well... of course if he ever was to leave for an extended period of time he would buy her several, for the actual use of guarding. Dwarves were not usually known for keeping pets but on occasion a guard dog was introduced for one reason or another and on the road... they had been invaluable. He shook the darkness from his head focusing instead on his gorgeous wife.
Her laughter warmed his spirits and forced him to forget his troubles as he carried her across the threshold. The puppy, of course, trailing along behind. His sultry words seemed to do her wonders and her eyes filled with a lust that made him weak in the knees... he dared any man to resist such a look of temptation... actually he dared them not too, for his blade would meet the neck of any fool who tried to steal his Flanna. She was his woman. They would need to find their own belladonna.
"I will love you whenever the urge strikes you in body, and I will love you even when you do not wish it with heart and soul." Her grinned at her as she took the puppy from his arms, stroking it gently until it fell into a light sleep, he grinned at her teasing words, allowing himself to be dragged across the bed until he rose above her. "Thank me? It should be I thanking you for giving us a child." He growled huskily against her mouth, pressing his hand to her still flat stomach and kissing her for all he was worth.

After they had made it into the bedroom, Flanna petted her dog, so happy that her wonderful husband was so thoughtful. She loved him so much. "By those standards, I should be a queen, I think." She grinned at him. Flanna knew that her heart beat only for him. In all of his goofy, silly, boyishness, he was truly a good man, and a gentleman, and the only man she would ever accept in her life. He was the reason she breathed these days, the words that flowed from her pen every afternoon as she sat down to write. And she wrote for him. She should show him, sometime, the words that she'd written, but they were all back at her old apartment, and she did not have access... But she did recall them word for word. "In every breath, in rise and fall Heartbeat large or heartbeat small Your face, your words, your touch Your heart, your soul, your love I wish it all upon mine own, And never would I let you go. My love for you is oceans wide I love you; you're forever mine." She smiled at him after that, as he looked at her. She dropped her head back on the pillows and let the rise and fall of her breathing calm her nerves. She still felt them creep up when he was this close to her. The sweet dog on the floor was now fast asleep, and she worried no more about her precious little Croi. She focused instead on the man, the wonderful, marvelous man, at her side and at her beck and call. He was so perfect for her and he didn't even know it. She shook her head. "You are perfect, my love," she whispered, her voice breathy and her smile sweet. He could never resist her, could he? He was utterly everything to her. He would protect her from Hell itself, and he would love her whether she wanted his love or not, even when she felt more than unworthy of him. He was so good. She was a very lucky woman, and soon to be a mother! He was finally back above her, and Flanna grabbed the neck of his tunic to pull him down for a chaste kiss. "I do love you, Kili. So, so much." She would offer herself to him whenever he wanted her, so much she loved him. They would grace this house with this child... and many more.
