Traveling along country side after country side, it has been a while since the last time Ryder actually had a job. No one seemed to hiring assassins anymore. Did no one have someone they hated or needed some type of information anymore? Or were the three kingdoms not interested in hiring him? Either way Ryder was out of work, making him rather bored. Currently he was in the enemy kingdom of Umacia. The people seemed to acting a bit odd, especially the guards and the various knights that kingdom had. It had been maybe a year or two since he was last here. After all, in this enemy kingdom Ryder was a wanted man for multiply reasons. The man was not however going to ask the townspeople of what was going on. More or less he didn’t care. He came here for supplies and supplies alone. He would just have to play it safe and don’t get into a fight or anything around those lines. Ryder had his face covered with a hood, so it was not like anyone would recognize him, hopefully.
Ryder bought some things here and there, only getting a brief insight about what was going on. He didn’t understand much of the women before were talking about. The only thing he got out of their little gossip group was that one of the head knight’s son was missing and that he was suspended to be somehow involved. Now was the time to leave the city, he didn’t want to get mixed up into this. If he was caught, it was straight to death row for him. Even if he wanted more info, it was best to leave. His safety was not more important to what the heck was happening around Umacia.
It took about twenty minutes or so before Ryder ended up at the entrance of the kingdom. He could feel that someone was following him, but decided to act when the two entered the local forest. If that is the idiot was brave enough to. When they finally made it to the forest Ryder pulled out one of the dual blade from his back. Whoever this person was clearly was an idiot. Before the twenty- two year old could do anything there was a bright flash of light. Ryder now stood in snow up to the knee. He had no idea what had happened. Just a second ago it was midsummer and he was in the middle of a forest. Was this the doing of the person who was following him or was it something entirely different? Either way, He was very confused. Luckily he still had his weapons on him, which meant if something happened he could defend himself.

Annie had been wandering aimlessly for well over five hours. All she'd come to was a grassland area. She'd been looking for an ocean or a lake something to remind her of home but, no such luck. A cream colored cloak covered her thin figure. Annie had her hood up strands of brown hair flowing out of the hood. Green eyes scanned her surroundings. Land was a truly bothersome area no water side sunsets or fish. Surely a district four girl couldn't be without water. Much of her life and sources came from the ocean. Cold air brushed her cheeks and her rubbed the cold air with her hands trying to warm them. She stood behind a tree now and a figure had appeared in the snow. Annie peered from behind the tree his hand wielding a blade of some sort. Annie sat against the tree hyperventilating. He'd definitely noticed her or heard her loud rapid breathing. Images of the Hunger Games flooded into her head. Her district partner being beheaded as another Career brought down an axe upon his head. Puddles of blood and drowning figures struggling to keep breathing. All had died. Except for Annie. She'd won by being the best swimmer a gift nearly every District four townsfolk had. Her breath was rapid now forcing her to cough and gag. She stopped hyperventilating and her head turned to the person. Green eyes sparkled innocently and she was on her hands and knees. Her hood had revealed her face and brown hair flowed toward the snowy ground.

Ryder spent a couple of minutes, scanning the snowy area before him. How could it have been in the middle of summer than all of the sudden be winter? Luckily for him the years of training he went through made it so he could be in any type of weather and it would not bother him. None of this made sense. Where was he? Was he in one of the three kingdoms of his world or somewhere totally different? He took another moment and looked around, finally noticing Annie. Surely, this girl would know something, right? Ryder sheathed his sword and made his way over to the girl. “Where are we? Do you even know?” It was more a demand than a question. If he knew what was going on he would surely start flirting with the girl before him, but he knew this was not the time to be doing so. Whoever this girl was she was having some type of mental breakdown. He had seen this many times, which he usually the cause of the person breaking down. That was a method of torturing people. Maybe since this girl was unstable Ryder could maybe use her later on. Now it was time to play the nice, sweet side to somehow befriend her.
Ryder bent down beside Annie, trying to comfort her. This was something he had never done before in his life. Everyone feared him, so he didn’t have any friends in his life. Besides, his job didn’t allow Ryder to get close to many people and all of his family members were dead. “I’m Ryder. What’s your name…? I promise I won’t hurt you.” Playing the nice card was hard for someone like him. He had killed many in the past without thinking. He was a wanted man on the run, he didn’t have the time to be flirting or any other things he like to spend his time doing. The only thing he could hope for now is that the girl would fall for his tricks for now.

Annie was still on her hands and knees when he sheathed his weapon. Her breath began to slow down to normal. His question was clear and demanding. She was a bit afraid to say she knew nothing so she shook her head slowly. He had at least one weapon and she could die right here and now if she ticked him off. So she wouldn't. Annie sighed with some-what relief. So his name was Ryder. It had a Vemoness sting to it. A name she hadn't encountered in Panem. Obviously he was not someone you wanted to tick off. Her name. He wanted to know her name. Should she lie? Tell him her best friends name? No. He'd be able to tell for sure. "Annie." was all she was able say. No she didn't want another friend before she was whisked off into another world. Finnick. Where was her mentor? Had he come here too? Or was she all alone? the only person from district four in this world. She sighed again this time worried. Annie didn't have anything to say. Nothing to comfort herself or anything to tell this Ryder. She knew nothing. She was in this land. Alone. No viable sea here. Then her eyes lit up. Maybe he knew where the ocean was? "Do you know where the ocean is?" she muttered barely audible for him to hear. If he knew she'd race to the sea and dive in and get soaked in salt water. Annie needed a reminder of home. Something to remind her of district four and Finnick.

Now what was he going to do? Neither of the two of them knew where the hell they were. And by the looks of it there was going to be more snow a ton more. He needed to find the nearest town, but Ryder had no idea which way to go or even if there was a town nearby. At least got the girls name, however it didn’t seem like she trusted him, smart move on her part, but Ryder wouldn’t give up that easily just yet. There had to be a way to get Annie to trust him. Ryder did not know what could happen in this place and the girl might be of some use sooner or later. “Sorry Annie, I don’t. I do not even know where this place is or how I even got here.” This act was a hard one to keep up. Ryder was never a kind person. He only flirted to get some action in bed nothing more. Using people was his thing. He didn’t care for friends or family, he wanted money and for his greatest enemy to be kill by his own hands.
Ryder stood up and looked around again, trying to find some type of sign of civilization. They had to be other people living here. If this was some new land, he would find a job or two. Or was he sent here for a different purpose? Either way, he had to find a town quick or they would be stuck in a blizzard. ”Do you know where the nearest town is?” Ryder asked. He didn’t even bother to mention that there was going to be a blizzard soon. The twenty two year old didn’t want to deal with this girl freaking out. If she did, he would most likely break his cover and bring harm to her.
“Come on, we better get going...” Ryder offered Annie his hand. He didn’t know where to go exactly, but hopefully his tracking skills would help. Also maybe this move could earn some of the girl’s trust. He had already had plans of ways he could use her later on. Maybe this place wasn’t so bad after all. Nobody knew who his was or anything about him here, wherever here was.

Annie knew where a town had been. She was too scared to admit it though. "No." She did know where town was but, her words never gave emotion. Could he tell? She had a small sliver dagger concealed in her cloak. Could she kill him first if he tried to kill her? She stood up taking his hand to help her up. She nodded. they should get going. Last thing she needed was another meltdown. She dusted the snow off her cloak the cloak was a bit big for she had a small size and couldn't fine any clothes that fit her just right. Her green eyes stuck out on her pale complection. She turned to a thicket of bushes with a trail flattened through it. "Should we walk that path and see where it takes us?" She didn't really want to talk but, how else was she to get to town and away from everyone for a bit. She turned around to face the trail and reached into her cloak to make sure the dagger was secure careful not to reveal the blade's shape but, her hands weren't one hundred percent steady. She dropped her hand from the cloak and looked to the path. She wanted to run to it and flee to the town. that wouldn't be smart though. She'd tough it out and she did have a dagger after all. She turned to face him waiting for him to follow her tot he trail. She trusted no one entirely. Except Finnick. If only Finnick was here to protect her. But, atlas he was not she'd have tot toughen up and if she had to show why she won the Hunger Games.

Ryder could tell that the girl was hiding something from him, but decided to ignore that fact. If she tried anything funny, he would surely be able to kill the girl in a matter of seconds. No one escaped has ever made it out life when fighting him as of yet. He was trained to not allow his opponents to walk away from a battle with him. As for now, he kept on playing the kind card. Annie was going to be very useful and probably was the easiest person to manipulate to do his dirty work. Ryder was a fantastic liar when he had to be. “I guess so…. There has to a town somewhere….” He was unsure of what to say next. This girl seemed like she wasn’t going to fall for his tricks for now. Maybe it was time to try a different act? Ryder did not know how to be nice and kind, his job required him to a ruthless killer. There was no time for him to be kind to people. Plus, almost everyone in the three kingdoms hated him unless they wanted him for a job. “So… What are you doing out here alone? There is bound to be some monsters out here.” The best thing was for a conservation to be started. If he could get Annie to talk more then maybe he’ll have more luck with earning her trust.
At this point, Ryder walked beside Annie along the path way. He knew that they needed to hurry or the two of them would be trapped inside the coming blizzard. The twenty-two year old was trained to know every sign of weather change and how to get out of it. The problem was that he only knew how to protect himself and if he was going to use the girl he would need her alive. “We better hurry… There’s going to blizzard coming.” The only thing he could hope for is that the news he had just given Annie was not going to make her panic. He didn’t know how to work with people, and would be forced to harm her if anything happened. Either way, he had to hurry up and come up with a plan to get out of the coming blizzard.

Annie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Monsters? Annie was sure she heard him right. Monsters. Also know as mutated freaky animals that the capitol used int he hunger games to kill you slowly. Images of several swimming tributes being mauled by shark like beasts nearly the size of a whale and spiked tails and metal sharp dorsal fins. She pressed a hand to her head as she walked. Mustn't freak out with an armed person standing next to you now could you? She'd managed to block the nightmarish thoughts from her minds but every now and then a wail from one of the animals or tributes played back in her mind. It was a terrible sound of the animal. A high pitched scream with a grizzly human scream of someone you cared for blended in to it. As one had chased her screaming in pain as Finnick would have. "Sorry... I'm out here looking for any sign of home." [/b] She muttered and looked up into the sky. He was right a blizzard was coming and it wasn't going to be a quick one. A few snowflakes had begun to fall lightly and slowly. She nodded to him and quickened her pace ever so slightly. Annie did not feel safe and had all the reasons in the world not to feel safe. Alone. No one around except Ryder with his vemoness name and threatening weapons. Being thrown into the area with people that had intentions to kill you. You can never feel one hundred percent safe or you might as well be dead. She sighed. The walk would surely take a good thirty minutes at least. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes: :3[/center]

At this rate, the two were not going to get to town before the blizzard hit. Ryder could fend for himself perfectly fine, but with the girl tagging along there was going to be problems. Plus, there was the fact that he did not know the area, so there was no knowledge to where there might be cave or something to stay in until the storm died down. “Do you know if there is a cave or something around those lines to stay? There is no way we’re going to make it to the town with the blizzard coming.” He was starting to get use to this nice act. It wasn’t so bad once he got used to it, however how long would he be able to keep it. This had to be the first time in his life where he was actually nice to someone who wasn’t paying him and or trying to get in bed with. Although he defiantly was not going to make a habit out of being nice to people. Being kind to others did not fit him well. He was a murderer, torturer who loved money more than anything. He was not capable of loving another person nor did he care about others. He simply used people to get what he wanted, when he wanted it. The only thing he wanted out of life was to kill his enemies and get rich, nothing more nothing less.
“So… Do you have a boyfriend or anything like that….” Ryder knew this was not the time to be flirting with the girl. Annie was not his type and he already he had some ways of using her. Even though he did have to admit to himself she was very pretty. He shook his head, trying to get the pointless, random thoughts out of his head. “Never mind. Forget about that question.” Why was this even happening to him? Was he out of the job too long? Either way, he need to kill something. It didn’t matter what it was, whether it be a human or a monster of some type, he did the action of bring the death of something or someone.

Annie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A cave? Annie would sleep in the snow if she had too. She didn't want to be snowed in a cave! She sighed and shook her head. No cave. Great so now he wanted to now if she had a boyfriend. Why should she tell him? Was Finnick her boyfriend? No. He was a friend. She sighed. "No. Just my friend, Finnick."
I sighed. Could I go back to the victor's tour now? For once I wanted to go back to Panem. Away from whatever place this was. Annie could run. He had weapons. She had one tiny dagger. She shouldn't run. If she had to she'd kill him. Just then a large roar sounded. Annie looked up staring a black bear in the face. Annie veered back in horror. Should she take her dagger out and reveal she had a weapon or trust this guy to kill it for her. She settled with a sharp stick on the side of the path. She grabbed it and thrusted it over the bear's head. He growled rising on his back lags and lashing out at her with his back legs. Annie raised the stick above her head as the bear brought his paws down on the stick slashing it in half. She looked back at Ryder waiting for him to actually do something before taking out her dagger. Annie's heart was pumping Ryder could let her die and go on his merry way or help her. It was entirely up to him now. The bear roared again his paw quickly flying down in aim to hit Annie. Annie's eyes widened. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes: I had to.

Now this was something he waited for to happen. It wasn’t exactly a monster, but still a bear was able to kill someone. It was pretty clear that the girl could not defend herself. He didn’t care what happened to her, however he did want to get some action in, killing the thing. Ryder pulled out his dual blades from their sheath, readying himself for attack. The bear paid no attention to him, which of course angered Ryder to the point where he stabbed both blades into one of its legs. The bear roared in pain, setting its eyes on Ryder instead of Annie. “I’m more fun to play with anyway,” usually in battle, he would play with his opponent’s emotions and thought, but this time around that method would not work.
The bear roared out in anger, swinging its paws trying to land a blow on Ryder. The bear was pretty fast however it was not the smartest bear around. It continued to chase the twenty-two year old around. Ryder was just messing with the bear at this point. Anyway he was having fun making the bear go into more of a rage than before. “I guess it’s time to getting serious…” Ryder said to himself, dodging one of the bear’s claws. He quickly jumped on the bear’s back, stabbing it multiply times in the back. This however seemed to really bother the bear. The bear just went crazy, making Ryder fall off and made him hit the ground hard on his back. Crap… this isn’t good… He didn’t have the time to hurry up and stand up before the bear stood over him on all fours. Maybe it was not a great idea to piss the bear off.
Ryder was pretty much screwed; he had to come up with a plan and quick. When the bear got close enough, the twenty two year old got his one of his dual blades ready and thrust it into the bear’s heart, killing it. The bear eventually landed on top on Ryder, crusting him. It took about five minutes or so before he finally got free. He sighed, thinking to himself that was harder than it should have been. “Hey are you alright?” He said, walking up to Annie, putting away his dual blades. He could only hope that the girl would trust him, especially after that move with the bear. After all, he could have left her to her death, but he didn’t.

Annie cringed as Ryder took a blade and taunted the bear then stabbed it finishing the job. Blood flowed steadily from the now dead bear. she couldn't help but, feel sorry for it. It was a product of natures. Eat or be eaten, killed or be killed. Sadly this Ryder guy was clearly not a fool on the ways of the forest. He was definitely not someone she wanted to befriend or trust. She gritted her teeth and nodded in response to his answer. Images from the Hunger Games from he Artic arenas flooded into her mind. She had to remember how the tributes had survived. Most of the tributes she realized had just laid int he snow and let the snow cover them. Their body kept the little 'den' warm. She shuttered. No sleeping under the snow with this guy not too far away. He could easily wake up and kill her. No caves that was out of the question. a stupid thing Ryder had suggested really. You could be snowed in for weeks and starve to death. What was there left to do? he was thin and not very muscular and could probably climb a tree. So no sleeping in the trees. Maybe he could trick him and get up during the night and run up into one. One thing was for sure. She was not safe. Ryder was dangerous just like the capitol. The cold was now starting to burn her face. She turned and looked to the left and pointed to a cave. "There." There was cave rested into the side of a rocky mound. Must have been the bear's cave. Her boots crunched the thin layer of snow now on the ground as she walked voe. Her plan was simple, when he fell asleep get up and climb a tree. In she needed to throw the dagger from above right into his chest.

Ryder could tell no matter what he did this girl was not going to fall for his tricks. He needed her trust to make his plan work. There had to be a way, right? For now, he just decided to keep up his act. The girl had to at least know where a town was. Ryder hated caves. He spent most of his childhood, before his masters took him in, living in them throughout the year. He would do just about anything to make it so that he would never have to sleep in one ever again. He understood there was not much of a choice in the giving situation. It was either freeze to death in the blizzard or spend the night in a cave. Besides he wouldn’t have to worry about being snowed in; he could always melt the snow with his magic. That’s what fire magic is used for. Melting things, cooking, heating, and torturing. Using fire magic was a great way to get information that was needed. Plus, whenever he used it on someone they would usually scream and then pass out. Ryder was fond of coming up with new ways of torture.
“Are you sure there isn’t a town nearby? I hate caves…..” He said. It was pretty obvious that Annie was hiding something from him. Ryder didn’t know yet whether it was something good or bad beyond this point. He could only guess that she was planning on doing something stupid. Attacking him would not be the best idea, Ryder was a trained assassin. He went through a lot of training to the point where he barely felt pain anymore. Back in his world, people didn’t even consider him a human anymore. He was more like a demon to the three kingdoms. “We have sometime before the blizzard comes.” Ryder had some skills besides of finding new ways to torture or killing people. He just didn’t let them show too many people. He did not have time for friends or love. Plus, he was not capable of caring for another person. He just used everyone or killed them without a second thought.
