Trying not to speak & Fighting with my weak hand Dorian, regretting perhaps the choices he'd made so far today--laying around in bed without a book at his fingertips or a bottle of brandy at his side--was anxious to leave his residence and take up walking in the fields just outside the town. Lately, he'd been bitterly torn. He had taken up reading a novel but the character was not at all to his liking. He was shallow and unfeeling; he was stupid. And Dorian could stand nothing any less than he could stand idiocy. Along with the people who tried to govern him, it was something he hated. He took his strides carefully, watching each foot as it fell across the grass and crushed the plant beneath. He thought of how he was supposed to live in this much cruder society than he'd grown used to, and wondered if perhaps they would more easily discover his secret. Victorians, those naive lot, had not taken much notice to his always-youthful appearance, but these people were harder; they noticed everything like he noticed the subtle changes in his painting. It was nice out today; clouds formed above and Dorian smiled to himself, trying to remember that he was eternally young. He had few worries and he could always leave if the questioning began again. He was uptight about that secret, but never let it stop him from something he wished to do. Life could offer its worst and Dorian would be fine. He always had been. He'd driven a woman to suicide, killed a man... And no one had ever nailed him for his crimes, if there were even such things. Lord Henry had always believed that sin was nonexistant, that only pleasure existed. He did not notice the footfalls at his back until another sound accompanied them, and looked up with an expression that he hoped came across as welcoming and not caught too off his guard.

It was obvious to say that Alyosia was having quite a bad day. Apparently they had strengthened the number of guards to keep watch around the market, mainly because of the issue of certain people stealing. That certain person was her of course. However, she wasn’t stealing just for the gold, or even the fun of it. No, the jewels still lay within their cases, the rolls of silk laid untouched. Yet, perhaps, a single loaf of bread was missing or some heated meat, or even some old looking cloth she used to make into clothing. Aly only stole what she needed because she couldn’t get a job in Aldeon, she couldn’t even stand being around people for a long amount of time.
Simply put, it was because she wasn’t of this world, she was an alien. Of course, she didn’t look like one at that moment, she looked what the humans would call a ragamuffin. Her pale, almost white hair was slightly askew, hidden underneath the green muslin cloak with simple furnishings. Her wild crystal blue eyes looked at the world for what it was – a big, unusual place. Fair skin without a blemish, she just looked like a very pale human. Yet, that was only due to the bio necklace that hung around her neck. Without it, she would never fit in. Like she was doing a class act of it now, by living in the woods. It was because she lacked control of her abilities, and developed a sense of social anxiety around them. The more people there were in an area, the more auras or spirits she could sense. It was enough for anyone’s head to ache. Yet she did it small intervals, just to get what she needed to survive.
Yet that day, she was doing a very poor job of it. Aly thought that she knew exactly where all the guards were. She had counted them, and kept a watchful eye. What she needed was simple bandaging for a wound she sustained. It was a minor cut on her arm, but without it being wrapped, the risk of infection was too great. However, when Alyosia grabbed it from the shop, and exited without the keeper noticing, she walked right into a guard, one she didn’t account for. Frowning, she immediately took the glove off her hand. “I’m sorry..” She muttered to the guard before touching him. His face etched with pain, he fell to the ground as she took off running. Of course, it gained the notice of another guard who followed after her. As soon as she made it through the main gates and into the fields, she thought she was home free. That was until Aly came crashing into another man, Dorian, sending her tumbling to the ground.

Trying not to speak & Fighting with my weak hand As Dorian gazed at the sky, he let the tense look in his face subside. What did he have to worry about? No one had ever noticed his inability to age, save for James Vane (and he had good reason). Why should he worry about this now? He was in another time, another place where no one knew who he had once been or what sins were written on his face--or painting. Every centimeter of Basil Hallworth's painting was turning uglier by the day, and Dorian did not know when the time would come that his soul would be black as the starless night sky. He feared for that day. As Dorian thought on all the things he had done that he would never take back, even as he were able, he got a rude awakening and was brought back to the imminent reality by a crash at his back, which sent him lurching forward. He regained his step so that he would not fall to the ground, and when he was certain he was alright he looked back to see the culprit. The woman he saw behind him had taken the worst of the fall, but he couldn't help grinning. She had an ethereal appearance: white hair like an angel, blue eyes like fine crystal. In a shocking sort of way, she was pretty. Dorian looked at her through his own nearly black eyes, his highly defined facial structure sharpening his look. "Dare I ask if you are alright, Lady?" He offered her his hand so that she might stand to face him, and though his eyes were sparkling with malintent, he asked gently, "Why run you? Are you running to or from something?" His demure smile defined his thoughts, which had quickly been diverted from all the sins he'd been earlier contemplating. Not hesitant, he decided to introduce himself while he was speaking. "M' name's Dorian Gray. May I ask after you?"
