Gollum glared down at the sleeping Sam Wisely. Nasty fat hobbitses that's what he was! His big blue eyes darted over to the sleeping Frodo and he gently hopped over the sleeping hobbit to get closer, to see him better. Masters was nice, master freed Sméagol from the gripses of the evil rope! Masters was kind to Sméagol. Gollum beckoned to him and Sméagol turned, scampering away from Frodo to the small puddle of water left in the dip created by a forest root.
"Nasty, lying, tricksey hobbitses! They stole her from us! They lied! Stole the precious! Stole her!" Gollum bellowed out his rage, screaming angry, vengeful. and Sméagol covered his ears, hiding his face and shying away from the water, shaking his head in denial. Blue eyes widening impossibly large.
"No...no... no... not the Master! The masters friends with Sméagol! He feeds us pretty fishes! Not tricksy! Not like the fat nasty hobbits that accuse Sméagol of sneakses!" Sméagol denied Gollum, only scowling as the thoughts of the fat smelly hobbit entered his head.
"Master lies to us! Master is tricksy! Why would he like you? You don't have any friends! Not even the orcses like you!" Gollum sneered and Sméagol whimpered digging his nails into his skin as he shook his head vehemently.
"Not listening! Not listening!"
"Liar! Thief! Murderer!"
"Go away!" Gollum whimpered, tears filling his eyes.
"Go away?" Malicious cackles accompanied the words. "You wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for me! I am the reason you are still around!
"I hate you." A whisper. "I hate you!" A bit louder. "I hate you!" A scream of anguish as he smashed his hands into the waters reflection and was suddenly pulled forward. Purple light enveloped the strange creature and sucked him down into the earth. Sméagol panicked, clawing at the air uselessly. "Master! Master! Master!"
Sméagol blinked... fighting back the blurriness from his vision. He clawed at his eyes until he could see properly. Trapped inside a small wooden box with straw and....poopses?
"Master? Master! Lost! Sméagol is lost! Just like the precious! Lost! Lost! Looooooooost!" Sméagol screamed bashing into the stable walls and throwing the manure all about. Screaming and crying Gollum flew into a frenzy.

A yawn escaped from her lips as she folded her arms behind her head, walking and looking up at the night sky as she headed back to her boss's place. She remained there until she gathered the money to gain her own farm, and hopefully that would be soon for the young blonde, seeing as how he was quite prosperous. Of course she only got a rough amount of pay for the rough amount of work she did. No big amounts of pay or anything. Though winter was pretty relaxed..
Jumping over the fence he had up for his horses, Aj wondered if they were okay. Used to being a horse, it was just a natural concern and connection she had to them. she pondered on checking up on them. She nearly decided against it, but that was when she heard banging around and screeching. Her green eyes widened a bit. A thief?! Or something worse... narrowing her eyes, she crept closer to the barn in which the horses dwell, and as she sneaked inside she grabbed a piece of wood.
Glancing around, she didn't see anyone. Nothing but the horses... Did she scare whoever it was off? scratching her forehead, tipping her hat upward a bit, she shrugged and turned, prepared to leave when something hit her shoe. looking down it was, manure?
"What the..?' She mumbled to herself, looking in the direction as more headed for her. Barely dodging it, she glared. Was this an attack?! Whoever it was would have to do better than that! Moving out of the poops way, she jumped over one stall, then another, gradually getting closer to the one she wanted.
Finally jumping over to the last stall she lifted herself up, standing at her full height, listing the arm with the wood in it up and ready to strike. Then she got a good look at the culprit. Dropping the piece of wood, she backed up. Not only was the.. Person, if you want to call it that, weird looking, but it was, crying?
"What in tarnation..?!" She wanted to yell at it, ask why it was there and why, but the tears in its blue eyes.. No matter how odd looking it was, she just didn't have the heart to yell at anything that was crying.
"What's.. The matter fella..?"

Sméagol screamed, tossing hay, throwing the manure! Trapped he was! Lost! Lost inside of a nasty box! Stupid, horrible, nasty fat hobbits! They did this to him! They took him away from master! Called him Sneaksy he did! All his fault! All his fault! Looost! Separated from his precious once again! Sméagol wailed and cried and screamed, hopping and scampering about the tight space like a creature damned, and perhaps he was. One of the walls was flung open and the moon shone high in the sky, glittering in the bright moonlight. Sméagol cried shielding his eyes and scampering to the back of the stall.
"The pale one! He hateses us! He hateses us!" Sméagol screamed referring to the moon, so long had he lived in the black caverns beneath the orc civilizations that even the light of the moon had him cowering back in fear. He blinked large innocent blue eyes, trying to peer off into what had caused the wall to move when his vision landed on a tall woman with bright yellow hair.
"Is it... a hobbitses?" Sméagol slowly paced forward, walking on both hands and feet as he peered up at her with a grave amount of curiosity. "It seems to tall to be a hobbitses! Hobbitses are fat, and tricksy! Liars they lie to Sméagol!" Blue eyes darted about the stall no longer seeing the woman and lost in his own world, but just as quickly as his thoughts derailed his attention snapped back to the woman. "Are you a hobbitses?" His eyes were suspicious as if expecting a lie. As he mulled over her words, his eyes widened as if surprised she would offer him help, and he rose to stand on his two legs.
"Helps?" Sméagol placed a hand to his chest, emphasizing himself. "You want to helps Sméagol?" His eyes darted around as if embarrassed by the prospect, before he bounded closer, clearly having no concepts of personal space. "Can you help us find the Master? Master has the precious. My own, my love! The precious she calls to us! We have to find her! We is lost! Lost! Lost!" Sméagol wailed, falling to his knees and burying his face in his hands, once again lost in his own world.

The tantrum continued, hay and poop, flinging everywhere. She could deal with the hay but manure.. Come on now. Was that needed? Lifting her arm in front of her face to shield from any stray objects, she was ready to grab and pin them down to make them stop, but had a feeling their cries and scream would only get louder. Then she saw them back away from something.
The pale one? What pale one? Couldn't be her, it wasn't looking at her. Looking around, she noticed she left the door open. Was it, the moon? How could the creamy light of the moon harm anyone? Then again it wouldn't be the first it last odd thing she would see here. Jumping over the stall door, she walked over and closed it. Maybe it would calm down.
Returning back to the stall he stood in, she sat down on the ground to be closer to the height it stood at, though it walked on its hands and feet.. Perhaps this was closer to animal than human? Or something..It began to talk to itself, or so it seemed. It sure did speak funny, but at least it was a language she could understand, and not some fancy talk. Then it asked her a question, turning to her with suspicious eyes.
"A what..? Listen 'here, I ain't no.. Whatever you said.. Hobbits..ss..es...ss.." Aj didn't like all of the 's' noises after, but she tried..
Then things took a different turn. It seemed, shy, averting his blue eyes, but it seemed touched as well, as if no one had offered it help before. Gradually it began to come closer. If it didn't throw another fit like before, she was okay with that. Aj smiled at it.
"Well sure I'll help ya sugarcube." It called itself Smeagol. She assumed that was its name. Then Smeagol began to wail again, falling to its knees, saying how it was lost and needed to find 'the precious', and how 'she' called to it. Blinking, she giggled. Smeagol, must have a girlfriend!
Reaching out, she slowly patted his, or she assumed the gender was male, head. She continued to give off a warm smile. "Hey now, don't you fret none! We'll get ya back to where you belong in no time flat! Chin up ya hear?"

"It wants...it wants to helps us?" Sméagol blinked, his eyes darting about the tightly enclosed stall, trying to decide if she was lying or not. "Its not trying to tricksy us? It's not lying?"
Sméagol watched her with curiosity, his large blue eyes blinking rapidly as he looked over her face. She wasn't like the fat hobbitses, but she wasn't like the nasty orcses either. He crawled forward slowly, he cocked his head to the side and approached like a wild animal might a human. He crawled around to her left, examining her from all angles as he circled her. It wasn't in a menacing or intimidating fashion just as though he was curious.
"It doesn't have big feets Precious, nor wicked teeth like those nasty orcses... its skin is like a hobbitses but it's far too tall." Sméagol hopped closer, resting on the balls of his feet as his stopped a few short inches from her face, head and eyes darting this way and that, unable to focus on any one of her traits. He reached out one hand and grabbed a handful of her hair and lifted it up. "Its got soft hair... but no pointed ears... it isn't an elf Precious. Then what is it?" He drew back releasing her hair and rested on the balls of his feet, done with his exploring.
"Is it part dwarf?" Gollum now grew curious, as his eyes sharpened, narrowed, and then reverted back to innocent blues as Sméagol shook his head repeatedly denying Gollum's statement.
"No! No! No! Dwarfs are fatter than the hobbitses! And they have nasty orcses blood braided in their beards!" Sméagol giggled answering Gollum before the female had a chance to speak. His bright blue eyes filled with childlike laughter and he bounded forward once again, excitement covering his face as he bounced a bit in place. "If it isn't a hobbit and it isn't an elf and it isn't a dwarf...what is it?"

Ah he was back to speaking to himself.. Blinking, she placed her chin in her palm and watched him. He truly was odd indeed. Yet, he thought she was lying? Why was he so quick to assume that? Guess he hung out with the wrong crowd. then again who was she to judge? She didn't know his friends, had he any.
Sitting still, Aj allowed him to examine her yet her own eyes followed him as he went around. "I ain't gonna hurt ya, Smeagol. I'm not even armed." Picking up the piece of wood she held earlier, she carefully made sure to show him that she placed it in the next stall to the left. The horse didn't look pleased with the new found gift but ignored it.
Also getting up, she leaned over the door and unhooked it, so it waved back and forth with freedom and leaving him to exit the small square if he wanted. then she sat back down, only to end up having some of her hair grabbed.
She made a slight face as it talked about dwarfs and blood in beards, and other things she didn't care to listen to.
"Well ya can start off by not callin' me 'it', I am a girl." she told him. "Yet my name is Applejack, feel free to call me Aj! Though I am human, Smeagol."

Sméagol tilted his head this way and that, contemplating her strange accent and her words. He didn't trust it, whatever it was. She seemed to be nice but Gollum reminded him how tricksy those others could be. Those nasty, fat, hobbitses, the smelly orcs, the wicked kings, Mordor! Sméagol suppressed the whimper as his mind reminded him of all the horrible things that had been done to him, but he had endured, survived every torture, every lonely day. Forgot the taste of bread...the feel of the wind... the warmth of the sun. Even our own name. Blue eyes suddenly distant watched as she picked up the wooden board and tossed it away. Something intelligent flashed in the depths of those eyes.
"There is more than one ways to hurts us... and not all of them require a wooden stake." His voice was soft contemplative, a tiny glimpse at the creature he used to be before the madness rooted too far into his brain. But just as quickly as it arrived it vanished. "Wooden boards! Axes! Those nasty ocses! Stole the axes from the dwarfses! Tried to kill Sméagol! Nasty! Nasty! Orcses!"
His eyes widened and he scampered backwards as she flung open the stable door. Moonlight lit the earth and almost illuminated the stretch of land, outside of the stables. Sméagol starred wide eyed and nervously paced to the open door, starring with brief wonder as his world quickly grew in size. Keen eyes swallowed the landscape and turned back towards the girl as she sat down and properly introduced herself. Sméagol hopped towards her, finding more interest in her than the world beyond for the time being.
"Humanses? We haven't encountered many humanses... they tend to live far away from the orcses caves, Sméagol lived beneath the orcses tunnels. Our name is Sméagol." He held out a thin hand, still able to recall some semblance of manners."We sometimes go by Gollum." He got quiet, very contemplative for a moment before his eyes lit up seemingly remembering his question. "Does she like apples?"

Blinking, suddenly Aj released another yawn. That's right, it was late outside. taking her hat off, she ran a hand through her hair, but not for long since it was in a ponytail. She wondered if Smeagol slept. Did he need sleep? Still even if she was tired she couldn't just leave him. After all if her boss saw him.. He may not be pleased, and Smeagol might get scared and do who knows what and then he could get arrested and even.. Aj quickly shook off all those nasty thoughts. True she may have attempted to attack at first, but know she knew he was only lost...
It did kind of take Applejack off-guard with how he looked at her. Something seemed, off.. Sinister.. Then it vanished, and he was back to throwing a fit and speaking funny. Sure she knew some of what was going on, someone about stealing someone's axes and being nasty but who was what?
"I promise I'm not gonna hurt you sugarcube. We're friends ain't we?" She asked him, holding her hands up to show her innocence. As if that would solve everything.
Her emerald eyes watched as he cowered away from the entrance. She looked over towards it. Was something wrong..? At first she couldn't thing of one, but then recalled him yelping about the shade of the moon and how it hurt him. Well this was going to be a problem, how could she help him find whatever if he couldn't go out in the light? Sure she could wait until the New Moon but, that'd take a lot of time.. Time they may not have.
Aj's attention was torn back and given to Smeagol as he spoke, noticing he was suddenly closer. He introduced himself, though he had already said his name like twenty times in this whole entire incident without her asking. Though he held his hand out as if to shake it. A smile crept on her lips as she gently took his hand, though she had to admit it felt, weird.
"Well it's a pleasure makin' your acquaintance Smeagol, and sometimes Gollum. Sure is a pity to hear you lived so far away from others.. are there others like yourself?" She wondered. was he all alone..? That just wasn't fair.. No one should be alone. Then he asked her a question. Did she likes apples? She chuckled. He must ask from her name.
"You betcha! What about you hun? You like apples?" What did Smeagol eat anyway? He looked as if he had never eaten a day in his life!

Sméagol's eyes grew wide as dinner plates, Gollum receding to the back recesses of his mind. His eyes darted about the small box, this time in an almost half embarrassed half nervous manner. He crawled forward, careening forward as he rested on his toes, his body swaying back and forth in excitement? Anticipation? Curiosity? Who knew? He tilted his head this way and that, before he rested one hand against his chest and smiled, a wide cracking smile that revealed all seven of his pointed malformed teeth.
"Friendses? She wants to be friendses with Sméagol? Sméagol has never had friendses! Sméagol has only had the Master!" Suddenly unable to contain his excitement he shook his head, small wisps of hair, gently floating back down to tickle his flesh as his gaze darted off to the left to look at some invisible being. "Did you hear that Precious? Someone wants to be our! We has a friend precious! Somebody wants to be friends with meeeeeeeee!" Sméagol shouted into the stall tossing hay into the air in his excitement, this time carefully avoiding the foul smelling manure.
"Apples?" Sméagol furrowed his brows in contemplation, trying to recall what an apple tasted like to no avail. "We don't remember what appleses taste like do we Precious? We only remembers the taste of fishes! Juicy sweet! We like the fishes!" Sméagol babbled excitedly, still overtaken by the word friend. She asked him if there was anyone else like him and Sméagol shook his head vehemently. "There used to be.. back when Sméagol was a... a.. what we were Precious? One of those short fat hobbitses... no... can't remember! We can't remember! Gollum...Gollum! No... there's nobody like Sméagol, Sméagol lived alone for hundreds of years in dark caves that smelled like nasty orcses."
Giggling and laughing the small creature darted about the stall obviously gaining a great deal of amusement. When he finally calmed down a look of panic seemed to overcome him and he scampered back to rest on his toes once again as he sought her eyes, his own filling with tears as he placed his hands on her knees leaning forward.
"Sméagol... Sméagol doesn't have any friends. We don't know how to be a good friend! Sméagol bad! Horrible!! Nasty friendsy!" The creature wailed falling back on his rump and burying his face in his hands as he cried. Such a bad friend he was!

Applejack watched Smeagol. She was concerned now. Had she said the wrong thing? She thought over what she said. All she did was ask if they were friends and wondered if he liked apples. Maybe he couldn't eat? Did she offend him by that? She sure didn't mean to, that was the last thing she would want. She doesn't like offending people, especially for no reason. after all he has been nothing but kind to her since they met. Then he looked at her with his big, blue eyes, as if a dog had just been handed a bone for the very first time.
Aj smiled at him as he spoke about friends, and how he had never had anyone but 'master'. Master? He was a slave? Or a pet? No, that wasn't right, he shouldn't be treated as such. Yet she wouldn't say anything. If that was his way of living and that made him happy, well so be it then.
He began to seemingly talk to himself, or so someone beside him. An imaginary friend perhaps? It was possible, or did he really believe someone or something was there? Was something there? Was it possible she just couldn't see it? He called it, 'Precious', just as he had the girl he talked about before. She hoped this girl wasn't, well.. Dead..
Hay fell about them. She smiled. It was similar to confetti in some ways at least. It weighed close to nothing, it was thin and it made a mess.. Confetti.. A slight sigh escaped from her lips again as she remembered Pinkie Pie and her crazy hyper antics with parties and confetti.Having friends was a wonderful thing, she had to admit it, and no one replaced all the wonderful friends she had back in Ponyville. She wondered if they were all okay.. Were things better..? Did they ever find Princess Celestia..? Or Luna? Cadence? She closed her eyes, a frown painted on her lips as she rubbed her forehead and eyes.
Her train of thought crashed and burned when Smeagol spoke again, about apples and their taste. So he liked fish.. She'd keep that in mind. Meat wasn't exactly something she liked though.. "Well how about I bring ya an apple tomorrow and ya can have another taste. That sound good? I'll even bring some of them fish if you are hungry by then." She would, somehow.
"Well of course there ain't no one like you. You're a one-of-a-kind, Smeagol! Means you're special!" Though she didn't think he was actually talking to her at that point in time, might as well tell him what she thought.
then her eyes widened a bit when tears filled his eyes again as he got close to her, his cool hands on her knees. He didn't know how to be a friend. He then presumed to sit down, cover his face with his hands, and, cry.. Applejack gave him a sweet smile, one a mother would a child. Leaning over, she wrapped her arms around him, and gave him a hug, pulling him closer to her.
"You just be who ya are, sugarcube, and don't worry 'bout nothin' else. You're a fine friend just the way you are." She soother him as she moved her hand into her sleeve, prepared to dry his face from his tears.

Smeagol wished he could remember Master's name, he know he had heard it a great deal of times... but had never paid in any mind. Smeagol was not a slave, Smeagol was not a servant. His Master had been deemed as such because he was the keeper of the Precious and where the Precious went, Gollum followed, initially the Master had been nothing more than a horrible thief! A wretched nasty thieveses! But then he had shown Smeagol kindness... no one showed Smeagol kindness, and instead of killing him like Gollum insisted they do, Smeagol fought the cruel personality and became a companion of sorts, an unpredictable loose cannon of course, but a companion all the same. He missed Master. The Master let him eat all the juicy sweet fishes he could catch, he listened to Smeagol, took his advice. Trusted him. Foolish hobbitses... they should know never to trust us. Gollum's voice tore through his thoughts but Sméagol pushed it away vehemently, he had other things he was supposed to be focusing on.
"Appleses... where does one find appleses? In the busheses? On vines? In the ground? That's where we finds the fishes! Sweet, juicy fishes in the dark caves of the orcses! Have you ever had orcses? Nasty. foul! Precious dosen't like them!" Smeagol babbled animatedly. The ring had a will of its own, it commanded its Masters, tempted them, until nothing remained but a soulless being doomed to rot alone. Smeagol was the product of this promise of power, the ring had been with him for over four hundred years, and the mental deterioration that made up the small creature was the product of such madness.
"She would get fishes for us?" Again she might has well have handed him the world with a pretty bow, the excitement in his eyes was so great. "Did you hear that Precious! She's going to bring fishes back for meeeeeee!!" He bounced excitedly, dancing about the small stall. While not all of her words made sense to the small creature, it was clear that they had quite a large impact on him.
Smeagol often went through unpredictable and sometimes even violent mood swings. Excitement to depression, calm to anger... he couldn't control his duel personalities and even on a good day it was difficult to predict him, but as he sat back on his haunches and cried she tugged him close to her body. His first reaction was to squirm away to fight the grip, but then he realized her intention wasn't to hurt him and his big blue eyes darted about the walls beyond her shoulder.
"Be who Smeagol is?" Ever so slowly he wrapped his thin arms around her, not knowing what he was doing but knowing it felt good to be wanted, to be somebody's friendses. It left a warm feeling in the center of his chest. "Smeagol likes Applejack... Applejack is our friend!"
