Vanos opened his eyes as he felt something hit his face, something cold to be exact. Standing up Vanos looked around for a moment before realizing that he was in a field of snow and ice. This place looked like Hoth to Vanos but he could tell that he wasn’t on Hoth, he wondered where Astro was as the little droid wasn’t anywhere near him. Vanos had to go looking for the droid before looking anywhere else or finding out exactly where he was. Last night Vanos was on the lush world of Tython now he was on a frozen wasteland of somewhere, he didn’t even know if he was even on Tython anymore which was strange indeed. Vanos had been hearing of a rebel army being built to take down the empire, something that he hoped that was true and Vanos had been searching for evidence that supported the rumours he didn’t want to spook them at all then he wouldn’t get anywhere at all. “Astro buddy you here!” Vanos shouted as he continued to walk through the snow. Vanos reached into his robes and his hands rested upon his lightsaber, he sighed in relief that it was there it meant that he wasn’t totally hopeless if danger arrived. Vanos was curious about where he might have ended up to and how he got here. Last night he was asleep in his own bed and today he was trekking through snow. Vanos was sure that whatever happened would be known to him soon enough, the answers he seek would present itself to him in only a matter of time he had to be calm and patient and not rush into things and everything would be fine. So with that thought in mind Vanos continued to make his way into the snow not knowing where he was going or even if Astro was in this direction, he really should put a tracking device on the little droid so Vanos could find out where he was whenever he wanted. Everything about this place was strange to Vanos it didn’t feel like Hoth to him but it was different though.

Several weeks ago, the Doctor entered a tournament with Gabriel Stark, a former member of Torchwood alongside Captain Jack Harkness, and they did well enough together that Gabriel Stark was knighted, and the Doctor was made lord over a small plot of land in the northern territory. The Doctor had asked to be given this small portion of land, nothing too grand, and he preferred not to have rule over any people at all, hence the northern territory, where there were hardly any people living at all. It was too hostile a region for most people, human or otherwise, as it was cold enough for arctic weather, but the Doctor could stand the cold, even just wearing his regular suit, for an extended period of time. There were rumors of direwolves, and other strange creatures, roaming the northern territory, and the Doctor had decided to go and investigate what sort of creatures might be found on his land. He wanted to know exactly what kind of problems Aledon might face in future, as he knew that Aledon could not stay peaceful for long, not when there were so many creatures and people from other worlds interacting with one another. Though he hoped that they might remain peaceful, and that there would be no war or conflict amongst any of them, he knew that it was unlikely when some people might try to take advantage over others, and that not everyone had a natural inclination towards peace. Not even he had a natural inclination towards peace, if truth be told, just the hope that he might avoid jeopardizing the lives of others and try to maintain peace and balance between everyone that he met, wherever he went, as he had a wandering, animated spirit about him that could never fully sit still, or remain settled anywhere for very long. Hence the plot of land in the northern territory—if he eventually abandoned this land, as he hoped to do one day once his TARDIS was fixed, it wouldn’t make sense for him to take possession over a plot of land where people would depend upon him, or need his guidance. He might even feel a sense of responsibility towards them, and would feel awful about leaving them behind. No, he would rather stay alone at the moment, thank you very much, and preferred a solitary place. He had taken his TARDIS with him, first loaded onto a wagon and then onto a sleigh once he had reached the cold climate, as he still could not get it to operate properly. He had waited too long to deal with it, and now it seemed to be completely dead. He hoped that the cold weather might have some rejuvenating effect on the TARDIS, or that he might be able to find some crystals in the snowy region to help repair some of the circuits. Maybe he might find a way, if he studied the problem for long enough, to adjust the TARDIS to this parallel dimension, and get it working again here. He hoped that he would find some solution. When the Doctor arrived at his ‘castle’, which was actually built deep underground in a natural cave system, he stowed away the TARDIS into a corner of the main cavern, and then set off across the snowy landscape, walking along the barren tundra. Surprisingly, he spotted, in the distance, another figure walking across the snowy landscape, wrapped in a robe. The Doctor stopped and stared at the sight, wondering who could it be. Hardly anybody lived up here, as far as he was aware of, and anyone who did would probably be safely ensconced inside a cave or some other form of shelter by now, especially as it was winter up here. No, whoever it was could not know the dangers he or she would be getting into, and the Doctor suspected it could be another sudden arrival here, much like himself, Gabriel, and so many others. The Doctor had to go investigate this, and protect this fellow from getting into any danger. “Hello!” The Doctor called, waving his arms, as he crossed the snowy landscape to reach the other fellow. “My name is the Doctor, how do you do? Are you new here? Did you just arrive?” He asked. He hoped the other fellow didn’t have hypothermia yet. “Let’s get you someplace warm, or at least out of this weather! I have a cave around here, somewhere, just like a hermit! Want to be hermits together?” The Doctor asked.

Vanos continued to trek through the snowy land that he was now in, it all felt strange and confusing to him he really hopped that Tython didn’t turn from a lust forest type world into a cold icy one overnight it just seemed impossible to him. Vanos was determined to find out what happened and to find Astro he wouldn’t leave until he found that little droid of his. Vanos had fixed the droid up during his time on Hoth, he couldn’t believe that the republic military had left him to rust all he needed was some attention and care and he was good to go. Vanos pushed the thoughts from his mind, there would be plenty of time for thoughts later he needed to keep his mind focused on the situation at hand. Vanos wondered where or even if there were anyone around, though he could have appeared on an uncharted world no he needed to stay focused right. Vanos stopped when he started hearing a voice from the distance. At first he thought it was his mind playing tricks on him but there he saw it another person whom looked human to Vanos began walking up towards him, Vanos smiled at the sight he was glad to have met up with another person at least. Hopefully this Doctor could answer some questions that had been burning into his mind. “I am Vanos Aster of the Jedi Order.” Vanos explained as he introduced himself. “Well what’s left of the order anyway.” Vanos added in with a sigh. “I woke in the snow a little bit away from here. I have no idea how I arrived in a place such as this.” Vanos explained further. Vanos continued to listen the Doctor as he talked about being a hermit. “I’ve spent the last couple of years being a hermit of types running and hiding from the empire.” Vanos explained some more. “I need to find my droid before he gets himself into anymore danger than he probably is. Astro tends to get himself into more trouble than I do.” Vanos added in. “Could you help me?” Vanos asked hopping that this Doctor would be able to do just that.

As the Doctor approached, the other fellow turned around and went to meet him, smiling slightly. That was a good sign, as the fellow might be peaceful, and seemed glad to see a fellow being, although the Doctor half wondered if the cold had affected the fellow. Perhaps he was starting to get delirious. “I am Vanos Aster of the Jedi Order.” The fellow introduced himself. “Vanos Aster, it is nice to meet you. Jedi Order?” The Doctor remarked, as a funny feeling scratched at the back of his mind. “Odd name for a group. Where have I heard that one before?” He asked himself. He had some passing familiarity with Earth culture, as well as the culture of other planets, and so he had some knowledge of the 20th and 21st century science fiction television shows and movies that some of his most recent companions had watched. But it all got jumbled around in his head, especially when he had other things in his mind, and so he had neglected to pay attention and remember some of the features and details of these movies and television shows. Although he did know about Spock. “Well what’s left of the order anyway.” Vanos stated with a sigh. “What happened to them?” The Doctor asked, knowing it probably wouldn’t be very good. It never was. “I woke in the snow a little bit away from here. I have no idea how I arrived in a place such as this.” Vanos said. “Did you see any purple smoke, or something like that, just before you arrived here?” The Doctor asked. “See, there seems to be something on this planet, in this country specifically, which is taking beings from all across the universe, actually from all universes that exist, and bringing them here. It’s like trying to unite all of us, gather us all together, for some purpose. I don’t know what it is quite yet, but I would like to find out.” The Doctor remarked. “I’ve spent the last couple of years being a hermit of types running and hiding from the empire.” Vanos explained. “Which empire is that?” The Doctor asked, concerned. “There are more empires out there than you think, all across history, on almost every continent and planet and universe. I’ve been there, by the way, running and hiding from…well, I wouldn’t call it an empire. My home planet had Time Lords, but we weren’t very interfering or expansionist. We mostly kept to ourselves, although occasionally we had rogue Time Lords who tried to take over other planets, and then we had to get involved in a Time War…which wasn’t a very good thing, to tell you the truth.” The Doctor remarked, a shadow passing over his face. “I need to find my droid before he gets himself into anymore danger than he probably is. Astro tends to get himself into more trouble than I do.” Vanos added in. “Could you help me?” Vanos asked. “A droid? Is that a robot of some kind?” The Doctor asked, and then his face lightened up. “Oh, I do love robots. I’ve met a few of them in my time. They have even traveled with me for awhile. I even had a K9 robot, wonderful thing it was, so smart and loyal. A very good dog.” The Doctor said with a smile. “Right, I suppose I can help you out there,” The Doctor remarked as he got out his sonic screwdriver and started to fiddle with it. “Though we do need to get you sheltered somewhere, out of the cold, you can’t stay out here forever. It shouldn’t be too hard to miss, your Astro, if I do a quick scan for alien technology, like Spock on Star Trek. Star Trek.” The Doctor paused, thinking. “Why does that sound so--anyway, hopefully the snow doesn’t block the reception out here.” The Doctor muttered, shaking his head and adjusting a segment on his sonic screwdriver. “Are you sure your droid is functioning properly?” The Doctor asked. “Or that he’s around here? I’m trying to pick up his signal, but there’s nothing around here for at least 8 miles, besides my TARDIS. That’s about as far as I can get with this kind of snow.” He heard a roar in the distance, and paused. “Ah, Vanos, I think we might have some company here soon.” He said. “Why don’t we run back to my place?” He asked, pointing behind him. The signal from his TARDIS was weak, some rudimentary power supply not completely drained of juice, but he could still trace the location of his cave from it, with some luck. Hopefully whatever was out there wouldn’t be able to run very fast.
