Melody is very kind and caring. She loves to help others and is kind of like a peace character. She is very proper and speaks and acts like a lady should (according to her mother anyways) She does have a curious and adventurous side. She loves to explore forests, and deep coral reefs and find new species all of which she documents in a journal. She could spend countless hours in the sea explore and playing with the creatures that live there.
Melody is different from other young ladies. While most don‘t like to get mud on their dresses or shoes. Melody loves to sit in the forests and read on the bare earth. She often comes home with dirt of grass stains on her dress. (Her mother despises that.) Despite her mothers attempt, Melody is an untamable girl. She‘ll never be fully refined and a perfect lady like her mother wishes her to be.

PLACE OF BIRTH: Probably somewhere in the sea. Unknown though.
CURRENT RESIDENCE: A small cottage in Aledon.

HISTORY:
She was born in a small ship to her mother. Three days after her birth her mother fell severely ill. She later died. Her father could not stand to have her around. Every time he looked at her she was a spitting image of his wife. He put her if a life boat and sent he away. She was later found by James Grandere who was married to May Hanlot. In the blanket Melody was wrapped was a note and written in it was Melody. James and May adopted the child as their own.
As Melody grew older she became more adventurous which bothered her mother. Why wasn’t she refined and quiet as the other girls her age. When she was 14 she was given a journal for her birthday. She started recording animal and plant species down in it with drawings and information about them. She was drawn to the sea and would often go swimming. However on her 15th birthday everything changed.
She had gotten ready to go swimming and dived from the dock into the water. She felt her legs tingle and they mended together. She was stunned by how fast she could swim and looked at her tail under the dock. When she dried off she discovered her legs were back. After years of swimming she has already half way fileld up her note book with new plants and animals. That’s Melody’s story up until now.

EXAMPLE:
Melody ran out of her house. Wind blew her hair. She needed to get to water. She needed to escape this cold. She sprinted to the pier avoiding others and dived in. She arose to the surface. She smiled then took a breath before diving back down into the water. She did not feel cold brisk water but a wonderful sensation filled her body as she swam. It felt as if swimming in the perfect temperature. She‘d swam two miles from shore and looked about for some dolphins that could offer a good companion for her swim. Two approached her sending out their complicated calls to her. She smiled and called back out in her watery language. The two swam breaking the surface to leap over it once and a while but, for the main part staying under.
She could not risk being found by anyone. She pulled herself up to a rock in a cove and smiled as the cool air gentle brushed her now. The dolphin swam around the area of water in the cove calling out to her. She stroked it’s head as it had asked. He looked down at her tail and could hardly tell the color difference from the water and her tail. It was a common adaptation for me folk. She wasn’t sure if there were any other me folk but she liked to believe so. She would often imagine her mother with her blond hair and the same tail color. She remembers nothing from her past but wished she did. The question was would her history please her or disappoint her. She wasn’t sure what to think. After her swim she patted the dolphin once more and dove back in swimming to the shore she pulled herself up onto the dock where no one was and dried off. She arose dry and walked home. Winter was a dangerous season for a mermaid with the snow and frost. Any snow flake could come down and she could sprout a tail. She couldn’t take the risk and often stayed inside on days like that.
