The sun was beginning to set on the kingdom, its reflection on the newly frozen lake hitting Rapunzel's eyes as she trekked across the snowy land towards the stables, where she spent most of her free time these days. She gripped at the wool shawl around her shoulders as it started to snow again and wished she had enough money to buy some winter clothes. As it was, she was barely managing to pay for her room at the inn and get food for herself. She shivered lightly, walking into the stables and smiling at all the horses lined up in their stalls. Human company was hard to come by and often unwanted, but Rapunzel never could resist the purr of a kitten or whiny of a horse. She walked down the aisle quickly, her heavy boots pounding loudly on the wooden boards, until she reached the dark brown mare she'd called Kenna, unaware of her real name or even whose horse she was. Rapunzel stroked Kenna's mane gently and the horse nudged her hand when she stopped. She slipped into the stall and began brushing the horse, humming softly. It was nice having something to do ... someone to talk to. Some purpose other than scrubbing floors and waiting on spoiled nobles all day, waiting for her family to return. She only paused from her work when she heard snow-crunching footfalls outside, and turned to stare at the doors as someone came in.

A few days ago Clark had arrived into this new world, a world that had a few surprises in stall for him and he was still getting used to this place. Technology was one thing that was lacking in this world it almost reminded Clark of the phantom zone except he got to keep his abilities. Clark had come to realize that this wasn’t a part of his trials no they were behind him now which was good it meant that something else was behind sending everyone to this place. Clark was able to acquire a house in the city though he hadn’t began to think about looking for some type of work just yet he still believed that there was a way out of here. Clark looked around for a moment before paying attention to the road he was walking by, he had to make sure that a couch or horses didn’t ride past him. Clark was so used to the busy streets of Metropolis and the large amount of people and cars but here it was different. Clark still had kept his mild mannered identity safe from everyone else however he hadn’t let loose his other side yet not until he learned more about the world he now lived in. Now dressed in a simple shirt, pants and shoes with a coat over him to make it actually look like he was freezing when he wasn’t, here Clark Kent was still a mask. Clark still had his glasses on as he pushed them back up. Pushing his thoughts to the back of his mind Clark looked at the snow, he smiled as back home didn’t snow at all. Clark managed to make his way to the stables he had yet to explore this new place and he thought that today would be the best day to look around. Entering the stables Clark’s eyes fell upon the many different horses. Clark then noticed someone else in the stables, a woman. “Sorry miss. I didn’t see you there. I hadn’t expect anyone to be here. Just exploring the area.” Clark explained as he rambled on. Clark waited for the woman to respond hoping that she wouldn’t mind him looking around for a bit.

Rapunzel breathed a sigh of relief when the stranger came in. She could be in big trouble, dealing with a horse that wasn't her own. Or, worse yet, someone might've discovered the secret of her past. She was just lucky that she'd never used her real name when she was a thief. "It's all right," she said slowly, wondering briefly about pretending to be the owner of the horse - someone of importance. Surely this man, a newcomer, wouldn't know the difference. A quick look at the dirty grey dress she wore for cleaning told her no one would ever believe it. She dropped the brush and exited the stall with a final petting of Kenna's head. "I'm Rapunzel," she said, extending a hand to the stranger. "Maybe I can show you around. It's easy to get lost out here if you don't know where you're going."

Clark looked back at the woman as he wondered if she came from here or form another world like himself, his attention was brought back into reality when he heard the woman speak and introduce herself to him as Rapunzel a name that Clark could only think of from fairy tales. Clark thought this whole situation was a bit strange to him, though then again he did live in a world that was a bit of strange heck he could even class himself a strange too. Clark smiled at that thought as he continued to listen to Rapunzel. Clark was glad that he had met people here that were nice enough to explain things to him. Clark nodded in reply being showed around the place would be perfect it meant that he could find out places easily and without getting lost in the meantime. “That would be perfect. I’ve already gotten myself lost a few times already it’s a bigger place than what I originally thought it would be.” Clark explained to Rapunzel though now only realizing that he actually hadn’t introduced himself to her yet. “I’m Clark. “ Clark explained.

"It's nice to meet you, Clark," she said, and it was the truth. Rapunzel liked the newcomers. Although most of them were frustratingly useless at navigating the ins and outs of her world, they at least gave her the chance to start over and be someone completely different to who she'd become. Still, she wondered about this stranger and his motives. He seemed nice enough ... but so had Gothel, and she'd easily betrayed Rapunzel. 'Best not to get too close to anyone,' she reminded herself.
"Well, I think you've seen all there is to see in the stables," she said and flashed him a quick smile. She readjusted the shawl so it covered her shoulders again and headed for the doors. "It'll be dark soon, so we should head back to the city. Do you have a place to stay?"

Clark smiled he was happy to meet new people here that was willing to lend a helping hand. This place was still strange to Clark he hadn’t fully understood how the town worked but he had discovered that it was a town straight out of medieval times something that Clark only read about in books so seen then in television or movie shows, not like this though nothing real life anyway. Clark smiled as he allowed his thought to trail of for a few more seconds before putting them back into reality. Clark himself was always willing to help out the needy and so Rapunzel didn’t have to worry about Clark at all. Clark looked over towards Rapunzel as she began talking to him once again. “Yeah I guess your right about that. If you’ve seen one stable you’ve seen them all.” Clark smiled as he looked around a bit more. Clark needed to work out a system here something to keep himself occupied until he got back to his own world or if someone from his world came here. Clark’s thoughts turned to Lois she would most likely freak when she discovered he was missing. Clark nodded in reply to Rapunzel’s question. “I do it’s not too far from here actually. I can offer you a warm drink at least on this cold day.” Clark explained to Rapunzel though he did wonder what else was around the place, he had yet to venture outside the city.

She watched as their footprints leading to the stables were covered by the falling snow. It was getting harder to see between the fading light and the faster-falling snow. No doubt it would turn into a blizzard by morning. Not for the first time, Rapunzel wondered why they hadn't made a clearer path to the stables. What she'd told Clark had been true - it was all too easy to get lost, even within the city borders. "I'd ... I'd like that," she told him after a moment's hesitation. She didn't often accept things from virtual strangers, but a warm drink would do her some good. And if his intentions turned out to be less than honorable, she still had her trusty dagger tucked into her boot. "The way in and out of the kingdom is that way," she explained, pointing to a partially concealed path. "I'd keep my distance if I were you. You don't look like the type to have come across a giant, and you definitely don't want to unless you know what you're doing. There are some good things out there, I suppose. Some herbs that don't grow here, and the ocean, if you like that sort of thing. 'Course it's all useless now with the snow. No reason to risk your neck until spring, in my opinion."

Clark stood in silence as he wondered if Rapunzel would accept his offer, with him being a complete stranger to her he would take no offence to the offer if he rejected it. Clark was still new to these lands and he would need to find out everything he could about the place if he wanted to go around unnoticed and actually survive in this world and so far it would seem that Rapunzel was a person that was willing to do show him the ropes of this new place which was great in the mind of Clark. Clark smiled when Rapunzel accepted his offer. Clark continued to listen to the advice that Rapunzel gave him. Clark turned towards the direction to which Rapunzel pointed. “Is that the only way in and out?” Clark asked with curiosity. Clark would have to take a trip into the wilderness to explore this place a bit. Clark eyes widen a little bit when Rapunzel said that there was a giant. Yes Clark would have to be careful if he came face to face with a giant and he wasn’t Superman, he didn’t want the people of Aledon to believe that he was something more. Clark Continued to smile as Rapunzel explained that he didn’t look like the type to go up against a giant. Clark was glad that his duel identity was working and just to add to it, he slipped purposely on the snow so that he would fall to the ground causing his glasses to fall off. “Yes um going up against a giant wouldn’t be a good idea.” Clark replied back as he stumbled to find his glasses. After a short moment Clark found his glasses and placed them back on, he managed to gain his balance as he stood up. “I think I’ll be staying here in the city while its winter time you know don’t want to cause any harm.” Clark explained as he straightened himself up after the fall.

"It's the only way, unless you're any good at climbing mountains," she said, motioning to the mountains that surrounded them. It was great protection against the dangerous creatures that lay outside the city. In any case she enjoyed the look on his face at finding out there were giants. It was just another sign that the newcomers didn't belong in this world, though she knew it was a bit hypocritical to think so. Rapunzel had spent quite a bit of time in her late teens and early twenties exploring new worlds. And even though Aledon was not technically her home, at least her world was similar. Whatever this was that brought her and all the strangers here, it had to be reversed somehow. The only good that could come of it was hopefully seeing Jefferson and Grace again, but they had yet to arrive. She stood by as he fell and watched as he struggled to find his glasses and stand. She smirked a little, wondering what sort of world he was from that he could survive … perhaps the one with no magic that her family had been sent to. "That's a good plan. It's really not safe to leave on your own." They walked for a few minutes in silence before Rapunzel's curiosity got the better of her, and she had to ask about Clark homeland. It was a long shot, but maybe he could help her find Jefferson. "Where are you from? I mean, what's your world like?" she asked casually.
