Link had only been in this world for a short amount of time, but he was still fascinated by all the world had to offer. The city, for example, was vast and wondrous. Exploring the city was proving to be an adventure in and of it's own! Navi floated close to Link's head as he walked down the market street, mouth agape, staring at all the vendors and the merchants. Oh, look at that hat! And that sword! And that cooked chicken meat! Link began to subconsciously move towards the food, driven by the emptiness in his stomach. Mmm, the aromas, the juicy, succulent-
"LINK!"
Navi bopped in him on the side of the face lightly, knocking him back into reality. Maybe he was getting a little off-course there, wasn't he? Well, how could you blame him? It had been a while since he had had a decent meal. Seriously, a guy's gotta eat! Don't fairies eat too? He didn't know, he doesn't recall ever seeing Navi eat...well anything really. He highly doubted she would eat meat if she could eat anything at all.
Ack, there he goes, thinking about food again! He shook his head to remove the thoughts from his mind, prompting Navi to flutter about in front of him. Ugh, what was she going to do with him?! If she could shake her head, she would be doing just that right now! How could he expect them to eat when they don't have any money? Seriously, no rupees meant not only no food, but no anything! No inns! No bombs! Nothing!
But maybe she was just being a little harsh on Link. It's not like Rupees grew on trees (Just in grass). They would have to think of a way to get some money if they wanted to live... or they could just hunt things and cook them. But Link's apparently lost his bow, so that's not gonna happen anytime soon...
"Alright...maybe if we ask really nicely they'll let us have some scraps or something?"
Link wasn't even listening at this point, he was dead-set staring at those food vendors. Just looking at the poultry - cooked and uncooked - was making him feel better.
...Or maybe worse.

.X. ----------------------------------- Maybe this new world wasn’t so bad after all no one knew who he was and there was no Markus to bother him here. Back in his world, everyone knew who he was and every little detail about him. Plus, now he wouldn’t have to hear how successful his twin was in passing to become a knight while Jake bombed the test. The sixteen year old let out a deep sigh, thinking about how probably back home everyone is freaking out due to his disappearance. There had to be a way home, right? He could lie and say he kidnapped, which would be partly true, and come home as a hero. “What I am thinking? No one probably noticed that I’m gone….” Jake said to himself, looking at the various things that are for sale. Sure, he had the money to buy almost anything he wanted, but he figured to save it for a room and some food until he was able to find a job. Which is why he came here in the first place.
Finding a job wouldn’t be hard, right? After all, Jake was a great swordsman and was a trained warrior since birth. The only problem was he was not really comfortable with hurting another human let alone kill one. The young teen didn’t know what to do at this point. There was no way he would ever kill unless that person absolutely deserved it.
A random thought after another he was just too lost about how he was going to make a living here. Back at home, his family was utterly rich, so he didn’t have to work for anything. Jake was in such a deep of thought at this point that he was really paid any attention to where he was going. And that is when he tripped over his own foot, knocking over some vendor’s food.

Link didn't believe this world was all that bad himself, really. A little odd to walk around with no one knowing of the evils of Ganondorf, or the great fields of Hyrule, but both Link and Navi were adaptable. Used to being thrown from complete chaos to peace and back into chaos, you know? Although this seemed to be a bit of a lull in their adventure, because even though they were in this new world, there didn't seem to be much they had to do. Link would have much rather been fighting Ganon then walk around aimlessly with an empty stomach. Not that he wasn't proud for defeating the demon, though. It just sort of amounts to nothing here, wherever here was. Aldeon or something. Link didn't really remember - that was Navi's job.
And then, as they were walking, they noticed something a little strange. A boy - probably around Link's age - tripped and fell right into a food merchant's stand! Link winced. Boy, that had to hurt. ...But at least he got to get closer to the food, huh? Any normal person would have probably turned and walked away, but Link was too kind. Perhaps too kind for his own good, but that's a completely different argument altogether.
Navi had no complaints, seeing as though they didn't really have any place to go. Link was only here to do his rounds as a guard, and nothing else. ...Well, okay, he did take this spot for the food, but still.
"Excuse me, but is there a problem?"
Being the ever-so-talkative one, Navi spoke for Link, who stood over the boy with a hand on his hip. Was he gonna have to take him in? Probably not. But he can try to help both him and the vendor continue about their days in peace.

.X. ----------------------------------- It took around a minute or two before Jake finally stood up. “ I Am sorry…. I didn’t mean to... My father would surely pay for -” And that is when he remembered that he wasn’t back home anymore. He was surely screwed here. This wasn’t the first time a situation like this happened, but back in his world everyone knew who he was and didn’t risk hurting the boy. “Um…. I…” He quickly remembered that his pack would most likely have some money. The sixteen year old reached for his bag, realizing the moron had left back in the room he had rented for the night with the rest of his things, especially his sword. Crap… Now I’ve done it.
“What the hell is wrong with you, boy? Pay for attention next time ya idiot!“ The vendor said angrily, walking up to Jake. “Saying sorry isn’t going to cut it. Do you even have the money to pay for all this food? Because to me it doesn’t look it and it doesn’t look like your fathers even here.”
Yeah Jake was screwed. Why oh why did he have to leave everything he owned back at the inn surely he knew like something was going to happen. It always did. “Um…Well I left my money and everything I own at the inn….so if you let me, I can go and get it…” The young teen knew that wasn’t going to happen, but he had to at least try, right? He was just hoping that this guy wouldn’t do anything to harm him. If not Jake would have to use self defense. “You really expect me to believe that. Do you really expect me to be that stupid? There is no way in hell you would even have the money to pay for all the food you wrecked!“ The vendor said, taking a few steps closer to Jake.
“I can work for you to make up for what-“ Jake only got half through his sentence before the vendor pick the sixteen year old by the shirt, getting ready to beat the kid half to death. At this point, Jake was too scared to even make a move surely he did not deserve this it only mistake. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Hey, put him down!"
Link grabbed the vendor's shoulder, his face stern but not menacing. He didn't want to fight here, nor did he want to see a fight take place in such a crowded area. But if he needed to, he would. He always kept his sword strapped to his back for many reasons, most of which changed every day, and if one of those reasons would be to stop a fight? Then so be it. He wasn't afraid to get in a tussle over the safety of another person - even if that person was a little clumsy.
Speaking of that person. Link glanced over at the boy who had been the cause of all of this ruckus. He looked pretty nervous, obviously afraid of the vendor out of fear of getting hurt. Well, that wouldn't happen as long as Link had anything to say on the matter. But, he did sort of destroy the guy's food station, and that would not go unnoticed. The vendor had a good reason to be mad, but Link wouldn't allow violence to spawn from this accident.
"What's your name?"
Navi floated over to Jake, hovering in front of his face. He looked pretty docile, but she couldn't be sure. Some people weren't always as they seemed, and Navi wasn't going to judge a book by its cover! But it was pretty funny to see her get all worked up, though. Not very intimidating when you're a small fairy.
"I hope you can pay for this man's food!"

.X. ----------------------------------- The vendor, listening to Navi, practically threw Jake to the ground, making the young boy smack his head on the ground. Although the sixteen year old was smart enough to let that go, mainly because the vendor was twice the size of him, but whatever. The boy just stood up, ignoring the blood that was running down his face. “My name’s Jake… I’m kind of new to this place, so I really don’t have enough money to pay for all the damaged I did….” He wasn’t exactly sure what to say next. By the looks of it, the vendor wanted to beat the crap out of him and it wasn’t likely that he would allow Jake to work for him to make up what he’d done. “If I can get a job somehow, I’ll pay everything back,” For now the teen just decided to play the weak and innocence part. Plus, the way the vendor looks he might not be a great person to be in a fight with especially without a weapon.
“There is no way in hell I’d let a clumsy ass like him even work for me. He’d only probably destroyed more stuff and make me kill him.” The vendor wanted more than anything to beat the boy. In his eyes, Jake just seemed to be another troublemaker, trying to get out of something he’d done. “Or how about this you let me beat the boy and he could spend a night in jail then I’ll let everything slide…”
Where people here really that stupid? Sure Jake didn’t look the type, but he could easily defend himself after all he was training to be a knight since he was six years old. “Or how ‘bout you just shut the hell up, and let me make up for what I did.” The teen couldn’t keep in his anger anymore. Back in his world, people would easily recognize that it was a mistake and let him make up for it. Yet he did have to admit it was probably stupid of him to even speak out at this point. And that is when Jake finally pissed the vendor off so bad it earned the boy a nice hard punch to the side of his face. The sixteen year old knew if he fought back it would only make the situation even worse, but he wouldn’t allow himself to get beat up either.
Jake easily dodged the vendor’s next couple of punches, and even landed his own a few times even. The vendor was pretty fast himself, but the teen was much smaller and faster than he. This was a fight that Jake knew he could win thought was it worth all the consequences?

Link winced as the man threw the boy down, but he didn't back down himself. There would be no fight breaking out on his watch, nope. At least, he hoped not. He couldn't really stop one from occurring, but he could break one up. And would you look at that, the kid was bleeding! Just great. Juuuuuust great. And what's this? The guy actually wanted to go to jail?! Well he'd be spending more than a night there if he beat this kid up on Link's watch, when he already told him no. Link drew his sword with a loud sheen, standing between Jake and the man. A few people around them started to stare, but Link waved them away. Nothing to see here, folks. Just some conflict and...bleeding.
"Are you okay?"
Navi studied the boy's bleeding head. It didn't seem like a serious injury, but he would probably need a bandage or something. If only Link had some potions on him, that would make things a lot easier!
And then he said it. Jake just had to egg this guy on. The vendor pushed past Link and slugged Jake across the face! Ouch! Okay, that's enough. Link sheathed his sword and pulled out his shield, using it to push Jake away rather forcefully, but without trying to injure him. He then repeated the action on the Vendor, although he was harder to push then Jake. He stood in his battle-ready stance, shield held out toward the vendor, standing between him and Jake. This was as far as these two would get.
"HEY! Stop! Before someone gets really hurt!"
They might not listen to reason, but Link would further separate them if they tried anything funny. Push comes to shove, no pun intended, he would take them in. He hasn't arrested anyone before - they would be his first if it came to that!

.X. ----------------------------------- It was the last hit to the head that actually did some damaged to the young teen. His sight was starting to blur and he was slowly losing consciousness. At this point, Jake could only make out the figure of everything and everyone that was surrounding him. As far as he could tell, this stranger was doing all he could to protect him even though it was Jakes fault that all this happened in the first place. And to think, this was only his second day of being in this new world and already he had gotten himself in some sort of trouble. “Thanks for everything….” The sixteen year old said to Link, trying his best to not pass out. Maybe not all the people here were all bad; it was that Jake so happened to piss off the wrong one at the wrong time.
The vendor, on the other hand, was just angrier and angrier by the second. He just wanted the boy to pay for what he had done even if it might beat the kid to get what he wanted. But by the looks of it, this other kid in green wasn’t going to let him anywhere near the moron he ruined his stand. Although the vendor had to admit to himself that he did get a pretty good blow to the kid’s head already. “This kid has to pay for what he did. He hadn’t even learned his lesson yet to watch where the hell he’s going!” The vendor couldn’t wait until he could finally beat Jake half to death even if it meant that he would have to do it some other time.
Jake could only make out a word here or there of what the vendor was saying. It had been a long time since he actually last felt like this. It wasn’t every day that he would get himself in this much trouble, but then again back in his world almost everyone was scared of Jake’s father. Even Jake himself. Come on…. This isn’t a great time to be fainting… There’s no telling what will happen if I do. The teen could feel his consciousness fading and fading fast until he fell over completely passed out. Maybe he just should have stayed in bed all day instead of going out and looking for a job.

Link was a warrior for the people. If someone needed his help, he would provide it, whether they started the trouble or not. That was just what came with being a hero - and a guard - and it was something Link would stick to until the very end. Navi wasn't much different, but she would rather Link try and reason with them before pulling out his sword. It seemed like it would reach that point though, and Jake didn't look so good. He looked over his shoulder Jake struggled to speak. Geez, this guy must've really done a number to the guy. He replied with a nod, then turned his head back to the vendor. Navi fluttered around Jake's head, then floated directly in front of his face. He couldn't pass out here, that would just make things worse! She needed to keep him up and...and not passed out!
"Hey! Can you see me? Keep your eyes on me!"
And while she kept an eye on him, Link kept an eye on the vendor. Wow, this guy was pretty mad, even for someone who just lost their stand. But it was just a wooden vendor's booth - it could be back up in a day or two, the most. Maybe he just had some anger problems? Well, either way, he'd better get to calming down, because Link wouldn't be easy to knock out if he were to get hostile. Speaking of knocking out, Jake eventually fell over, unconscious. Navi floated frantically above him, trying to think about what to do. Oh no, this wasn't good! This wasn't good at all!
"Link, we have to get this kid to a doctor or something!"
Link slowly lowered his shield, backing up, but did not lose sight of the vendor. He replied with a very short "Ah," and crouched down to inspect Jake. He seemed to be bleeding quite a bit from his head, but otherwise he was generally alright. Probably didn't get into fights often...
Navi floated up to the vendor's face, now angered herself. Hell hath no fury like a tiny, enraged fairy!
"We'll think of something, okay?! Why don't you just have him rebuild your stuff and then work for you for a bit? Having a second hand to help can't be that bad, can it?"
She hoped he would agree, because otherwise, she wasn't sure what to do. The kingdom probably wouldn't pay for it, so it was this or nothing. Unless the man didn't simmer down, and tried to attack again - then things would be much, much different.

.X. ----------------------------------- The only thing the vendor did was laugh. He didn’t know whether or not it was at the kid who just fainted or was it because of the angry fairy. Either way, both of them were pretty funny to him, especially seeing how as the kid couldn’t even take a punch to the head when just yesterday he was talking about becoming a knight or something. “There’s no way in hell I’ll let that boy work for me. Seeing as he couldn’t even take a hit to the head and he will just wreck everything even more.” The vendor would not allow Jake anywhere near his food booth. It probably wasn’t smart idea to begin with anyway. The sixteen year old never worked a day in his life. Why would he when the Cartney family line was one of the richest families back in Umacia. Jake would only tended the many classes his parents paid for, but other than that he would just do whatever he wanted when he wanted.
Getting used to being in Aledon will take the teen probably a long time for Jake. Here he was not in training to become a protector to the royal family; here he was just another teenager that was thrown into a new world. “The brat doesn’t know how to pick his fight and doesn’t know how to talk to his elders. Overall, he deserved it and now he has to pay me back for all the damage he had done or I kill him sooner or later.” The vendor that the kid wouldn’t be able to protect himself without anyone there helping him. But little did he know that Jake was actually a great swordsman, who just forgot his weapon back at the inn since he was a moron who didn’t think very often.

Some people were just too stubborn for their own good. This man was one of them. Really? He wouldn't? He didn't want a free hand? And how did him passing out after being hit in the head have anything to do with his working potential? Link was pretty confused, and pretty frustrated. Of course, this wouldn't just settle itself out, and he was the only thing - quite literally - standing between him and his quite possible death. There would obviously be no reasoning with this guy, so Navi fluttered back around Jake, although nothing she could do would make him come to. Jeez....did the guy really hit him that hard?
"Well, mister, you won't get away with assault like this...he's out cold..."
Link sighed. Just wonderful. The vendor did have a good reason to be mad at Jake, that was for sure, but was there really so much reason to hit him that hard? Would he really kill over his foodstand? Jake wasn't the only swordsman here, though, and Link would protect him as long as he was in danger, but he wouldn't be walking out of this scott-free either. The man probably made his living off of his food stand, even if it could be easily repaired. Where did he get the supplies? Surely he'll be paid back, or something, right?
"Link we really need to get this boy out of here."
There was a light crowd starting to form around him. He went to shoo them away when Navi flew past him, already on the job.
"HEY! LISTEN! Someone get a doctor!"
There, now they could keep an eye on the boy, get him medical attention, and keep the man at bay.

.X. ----------------------------------- In the vendor’s eyes the sixteen year old deserve the punch in the head for talking back. Plus, the vendor was somewhat starting to actually clam down although it probably was not going to last. “I just want the brat to pay for the damaged he did. He deserved the punch to the head anyway. Apparently, his parents did not teach him how to respect his elders.” The vendor said, glancing at the still passed out Jake. This probably was not going to be the last time he would see of the teen running around town and it was the best that the vendor got his money, so no more harm would come to Jake later on. Even though, Jake learned his lesson to not leave his weapon and money at the inn anymore. If the idiot actually brought his money and sword with him this time all of this would probably been avoided. And he would have been perfectly fine and go about his search for a job or maybe an training session to attend to.
Maybe it was a good thing that Jake was still knocked out. That last comment the vendor had made would only have made him mad, and would probably say something smartassy back. The sixteen year old was most likely going to be the kindest person you’ll ever meet… Well, until you pissed him off. He was trained to be a warrior although it did not fit his kind nature personally very well.
“I didn’t even punch him that hard. Anyone else could here taken a hit like that. The kid’s just a weakling who couldn’t pick his fights the right way.” The vendor couldn’t possibly think to why that Link was still protecting Jake. If was another guard they would have let him beat the kid if he wanted and ignore everything that would have happened.

"Hey! he didn't deserve it!"
In Navi's eyes, no one deserved being hit, unless they were truly evil. Jake didn't seem evil, just really clumsy. He would pay for the stand the right way, and that way didn't involve him being beaten up. Seriously, was that the only thing this guy was thinking about? Violence, that is? He seemed like a ... simple person. Even if they could see where he was coming from, he was really over-exaggerating the situation. Link would make sure that Jake paid the man back, at the very least, because that's the best he could do, really. It seemed like the man was beginning to come to his senses now, though.
"Alright, well, just how much do you think this will cost...? Looks like a good seventy rupees would work, right Link?"
The boy shrugged. He wasn't exactly a whiz with money or anything, he only used it to get vital weapons (and food, which he still hadn't gotten). But Link would have to question the vendor when he claimed to have 'not punched the boy that hard'. He was bleeding! From his head! That was a pretty hard punch, no matter how you look at it. Link may be able to withstand it, but that's besides the point. It was Link's nature - no, his duty - to protect people who needed it. Jake could fight, but he didn't have his sword, and since he was unconscious, it made it Link's duty to protect him, even if it meant standing up to this simple-minded man. Not the hardest thing he's done, by far, but still frustrating though.
"We'll get this kid some medical help, and then when he's awake, we'll discuss the money he owes you, okay?"

.X. ----------------------------------- It did not seem like Jake would be waking up anytime soon. The hit to the head he took was a nice hard one. Sure, he probably had worse happen to him in the past, but it had been a while, maybe years since the last time the sixteen year old got in an actually physical fight. He was often bullied back his in his world. After all, he was not all that tall compared to the other knights in training. He did however, came from a rich and powerful family, who served the royal family. When he arrived in Aledon, he brought with him a couple hundred gold and silver coins, his sword, and some other random stuff not worth mentioning. Jake usually had such things on him because he always trip over something and break stuff by accident, pretty much like this whole situation was about. He was a great kid, who was just too clumsy for his own good. Always tripping and falling over just about anything and everything.
“Wrong. The kid owns me about a hundred, but since I knocked him out I’ll take off about ten or so.” The vendor only guessed of how much damaged Jake caused, however he was somewhat kind enough to give the kid a break. After all, He knocked the kid unconscious. The vendor just couldn’t control his anger the right way. “He doesn’t need a medical attention. Just get some cold water and dump it on him. That should be enough to wake him.” If his memory served him right, that should be enough. It was pretty clear; that the boy did not get into many fights otherwise he would not have been out for this long. “There are other means of waking him like punching him in the stomach, but best to keep with the cold water... unless that doesn’t work. “ At this point the vendor was just throwing out some ideas. Although he did have to admit he would enjoy maybe just another swing at the boy would be worth it. After all, it would wake him up and probably cause him some pain here and there.
