Kili's life had seemingly lost the spiral of tragedy and disappointment that it had held since the day he was born. His parents, he could not remember, both having been killed by the dragon Smaug, his people who owned once the greatest city in all of middle Earth, were no more, his home destroyed, his kin vanquished, nothing remained but a rag tag team of warriors, and his Uncle... their rightful king and heir to the lost city of Erebor. They had been in the midst of a journey to reclaim it, when Kili had gotten sucked here. His family, his brother Fili and his uncle Thorin, along with what remained of his kin had been lost to him. Alone and lost his spirits had worsened, but Thorin... Thorin had also been brought here and while they both still wished to reclaim Erebor there was little they could do about it.
Then... he had met Flanna. The love and life of his heart. His wife and now she grew swollen with his child. He could ask for nothing more. He had built her a magnificent home, they had a dog, the dream life, Kili's life was quite considerably happier... so why was he here training instead of fawning over his gorgeous wife? Because he was restless. Kili had never known peace or plenty. He was not made to sit idly by and watched the world spin, he yearned for adventure, for a battle, for a fight, but all he got were dummies so drilled full of his arrows that even the stitches seemed pointless. As he let another arrow fly, he wished its target was an orc, a troll, anything other than dummies filled with pointless stuffing.
He loved his wife and was exuberant for their child, but he missed his days spent on the road, carefree and endless. Perhaps he could take off for a week, explore this world a bit more, get to know its wonders, its terrains. His fingers itched for his blade, an adrenaline filled battle... it what he yearned for at the present. He half wished Thorin would arrive, no doubt his uncle would whisk him away if only for a few days and his wife... Flanna, she would understand, she would know he needed his restless side to have a taste of battle, because she was perfect for him, and she understood him down to the very large part of him. She would more than likely send him off with a kiss and a threat if he failed to return to her, which he would take in stride. Adventure... it was the only thing his life was missing.

.X. ----------------------------------- Was this really the place or was he just lost again? Maybe it was not the best idea to get directions from an insane old lady. It did not seem like this dream to become finally become a knight was going to be happening in this world either. More than anything Jake wanted to go back home to Umacia. Everything he loved was there. He had a pretty normal life there too. Back home, he didn’t have deal with people bullying him as much. He was only here in Aledon for a couple of days, but to him it seemed like forever. Jake looked around for a second or two, noticing the small gang of older boys that bothered him just yesterday. Why were they here and hopefully they don’t notice him. At time like these, he just wished that Jacob was beside him again. Not many people were dumb enough to mess with the Cartney twins. The two of them did just about everything together. Not only that, but if one of them was in need the other would surely do everything in their power to help out. The sixteen year old shook his head, trying to stop himself to stop thinking about Jacob again. It was not the time or place to be getting depressed, especially with those idiots who were bound to start some trouble. “Hey, isn’t that the kid from yesterday?” One of the boys asked as the crowd of four walked up to Jake.
Why, oh why did this have to happen? He was minding his own business. Why did they have to bother him now? He came here merely to find some type of master or teacher to help him train. “Just leave me alone….” Jake just left it at that. Even if they tried anything he had his sword with him this time around. He maybe be smaller and less muscular compared to them, but when he got serious the sixteen year old was surely not the one to mess with. “I will hurt you all if anyone tries something.” Threats were not the best thing Jake could come up. In Umacia, everyone was scared of his father, so most of the time they backed off unless they were just plain dumb.
“Yeah right. What are you going to do, shorty?“ One of the boys tried putting one of their hands on Jake, but before he could do so the sixteen year old quickly grabbed his arm and flipped him over, making him land hard on his back. Sure, this probably was not the best idea Jake had since there were three other boys he would have to deal with. However, this was the only way to make them stop bothering him. Besides, they were the ones who started it.

Kili had been debating for quite some time if he should not simply uproot his wife and whisk her away on an adventure. A hunting trip, to see other foreign lands, to vanish into the wilderness for a few weeks... all of it seemed so exciting, so thrilling in retrospect... but would his loving wife agree to go with him? Or would she find such a long and harrowing journey troublesome and not with the time or effort? He sighed softly, nocking another arrow and letting it fly. A perfect shot, a bulls eye. of course. Kili was deadly with a bow, not quite as talented with a sword, but pretty damn close. Kili had been raised a fighter since very early on.
A high pitched shout, a masculine voice, filled with cockiness and pride. Kili bristled. That was the voice that had spoken to his kin time and time again. So many thought they were better than them, the fallen dwarves and their kind. Their lost city of Erebor, who was a divine ruler now? Their words were angry, venomous, but they held truth, it was, ultimately, their own greed for gold that had brought the fire drake down from the north. They had brought upon their own destruction, and while the lesson had been learned, people were cruel by nature, and his grip tightened on the bow instinctively as he round to face these prideful creatures. He cared little who their hatred and snide comments were aimed at. Kili would be sure to teach them some manners. He had fought trolls, orcs, countless other beings... these humans would surely be no match for him. He heard the voices and he came upon them just as the three boys shoved a single one into the dirt and onto his back. Kili's dark eyes turned to hard onyx and his fingers danced on the hilt of his blade.
"If he doesn't hurt you, I will." Ice could have colored his words and they could not have been any colder. "I have seen more honor in the lowest of pigs, at least they have the decency to attack one against one. You are too cowardly to face him alone so you bring back up, how utterly pathetic, tell me do you still suckle at your mothers teat as well?" Kili snarled. He hated people like this. If this were middle earth it would be a duel to the death that would decide the victor, he would not take the first blow, they were but only teenagers, but should they try something foul and come at him with anything other than swinging fists, Kili would end them.

.X. ----------------------------------- At first, the pack of four teenage boys simply ignored Kili and proceeded to harassing Jake. Just yesterday the group started bothering the poor kid, and now it was pretty clear they did not want him here. And either did Jake want to be here. More than anything he wanted to be back in his world where he belonged. Besides, there no one would even dare to think of harming him; just about everyone was scared of what the sixteen year old’s father would do to them if they tried. As far as Jake could tell, it was his last move that really pissed off the group. Maybe he just should have dealt with it in some other way than what he did. Then again, he would be pretty much be screwed either way. Before Jake could even do anything to defend himself, the one who he flipped picked him up by the shirt and punch the younger kid across the face. The sixteen year old couldn’t possibility do anything beyond this point o defend himself it three against one. All of them were much bigger and stronger than Jake, leaving the kid utterly helpless. It also didn’t help that he had anger one of the bigger ones too.
“What are you going to do? You’re actually a lot smaller than the kid.” One of the four said to Kili. He was obviously the leader of the group and had to be the strongest out of all of the four teenage boys to be at the top. Meanwhile, the other three had managed to put Jake in a headlock, choking the poor kid. Jake was only able to fight back so much. This was his actually first fight without his twin to back him up. Without his twin, he was pretty much powerless on his own. The only other way out of the given situation he could possibly think of was using his magic or if there was some way to reach his sword. The sixteen year had to do something to get out of this mess. He didn’t care how anymore. It was pretty clear that these morons would do anything to harm him, so Jake would have to be forced to think the same way.
No matter how hard Jake struggled to get free somehow, his attacker’s grip only got tighter. At this point, the kid couldn’t breathe, and was starting to feel like blacking out at any moment. The only thing that passed through his mind was why did such bad things keep happening to him and why did these idiots pick him to start a fight with. He didn’t do anything to anyone. The only reason to why he was here was to hopefully find a someone willing to train, but instead he just got a couple punches and now was being choked for trying to fight back, Nothing seemed to be going well for Jake since the day he arrived.

Kili hated a vast deal of races for this very same reason, they held no honor, no pride, no code of conduct. They would much rather hide behind one another and give off the air of strength and courage than face the simple fact that they are cowards within their own right. Kili would have no problem ending their lives. They did not deserve the title warrior and they certainly did not deserve the titles of honor and prestige, they were nothing but cowards whose tails were too far tucked between their own legs to realize much of anything. If the young male who had been tortured by these young sewer rats wished to join him, he damn well could.
In the blink of an eye Kili drew his blade with eloquence and grace, spinning the thing around and grabbing it by the blade, he smashed the hilt into the head of the one holding the poor buy in a choke hold. The sickening crunch of bone filled the air, and the boy crumpled to the ground, blood draining out of his left ear as his breathing fell still, Kili tossed the blade, righting it within his palm, as onyx orbs glared daggers at the other two. He stepped in front of the lad, now desperately trying to regain his breath. These two children would be no match for Kili, he had faced adversaries the likes of which they could not dream up, and while normally he preferred to fight with a bow over a sword, that definitely didn't mean he couldn't.
"Well then? Have at me." It was a low, daring tone. Oozing with confidence and intimidation. Kili was not afraid of these maggots. Kili did not fear much of anything and he readied himself as he waited to see what the two boys would do, if his presumptions were correct, they wouldn't do much besides turning tail and running. Kili would need to worry about the boy still gasping for breath after it was possible he needed medical attention but Kili was better off making sure he was safe before he attended the boy.

.X. ----------------------------------- The sixteen year old was on his hands and knees having a coughing fit. He felt like blacking out, but somehow managed to stop himself from doing so. Although his head ached, his throat was bruised, and his face still hurt from the punch he had gotten earlier. If it was a minute later surely he would have been strangled to death. Why does all these bad this keep happening to him? That was the same question he kept on asking himself time and time again. Jake didn’t understand why all of the sudden they were trying to kill him. Just the other day the small group teenagers teased him and pushed him around some bit, but nothing to deserve this. The last time he checked he didn’t do anything wrong to anyone as of yet. He was capable of actually harming anyone else unless he absolutely had to. He only came to the training grounds was to find someone willing to teach him. The kid had been denied twice by his torturers master and some random guy. They didn’t give the kid a chance to prove himself. They only judged Jake based off of how small he was compared to the other students. His coughing came to a stop. He was fine for the time being just extreme lightheaded and had a couple bruises here and there. For the time being, Jake decided to keep safe and stay on the ground, fearing that if he tried to stand he just hurt himself even more.
The two remaining teenagers stood there in stock, seeing as their companion went down so easily. The two whispered something to each other. They knew they were outmatched for now. It was best to run for the moment. Besides, they could always beat the kid some other time. Even if there was only two remaining of the small group of theirs, it was still more than what the kid had. Besides, he wouldn’t always have someone there to protect him. “Don’t think this is over, Jake! We will get you one way or another!” One shouted out before the two retreated back to their master.
How did those jerks know his name? Yet another question that Jake couldn’t answer. He didn’t introduce himself to them and only a few people here actually knew his name. There was something not right here. He couldn’t possible think of why or even how they knew. Overall, the kid decided to leave it at that and figure out the details later. Without a doubt, the sixteen year old knew that those two were going to go tell of what happened to their teacher. And probably starting lie about half of what actually happened. With that rumor going around, there was no way anyone would take him on as a student anymore. Everything he ever hoped in his life for was now crashing down on him.
